  • Nice. Thanks Luke.
  • Actually it'll probably be good just to listen to the audiobook but have the maps handy on your phone. That's what I did for my re-read (listen).

  • For folks who have invested in "better" clients for things like twitter, Facebook, etc: did you actually notice any improvement in the long run? I have a suspicion that the difference probably isnt worth even the small amount of cash they often cost.

Falcon Pro was $5 and never see a single sponcered tweet or piece of advertising.

No longer seeing diapers on a regular basis might be worth it, I guess.
  • Any good suggestions on a kid-friendly seafood place near Baltimore's Inner Harbor?

Tweetbot doesn't show Twitter's ads, has useful muting rules (ignore user, hashtag, string for a day, a week, forever), useful display of embedded content, and is more “fun” to use. I would pay double what they cost.
  • My dad reads audiobooks on audible. I must confess that I've only listened to one of his, Sacrament, which was kind of awkward with the sex scenes.

I really enjoyed Anansi Boys thanks to Lenny Henry's reading. The characters had distinctive accents that I would have failed to imagine properly on my own.
  • Ender's Game makes for a great audiobook.
  • Tried doing various searches, but nothing came up. Didn't ScRym do a podcast about the Dick Tracy movie? I swear they did.
  • They did a Roger Rabbit episode, maybe you're thinking of that?

Dick Tracy was a great 90s movie that really is best not seen in modern times.
  • Oh I'll be having comments similar to that tonight for ATW9K.

This is amazing, it gets everything! I can breathe again.

It's like when I first got my glasses, except for my nose.
  • I just bought this (8 GB, 1600 MHz, not seeing CAS but I thought it was 9) to upgrade my laptop. The old stick was this (4 GB, 1333 MHz, CAS 9). Do I run just the new one or both?
  • From what I've heard, sometimes running with two different size ram sticks only really shows weirdness in benchmarking tools, but for actual use its fine.
  • Is there a noticeable difference between 1333 and 1600?
  • Well the old saying is that you're better off with more RAM that's a little slower than to have less RAM that's a little faster. Nowadays there are cases where faster RAM would matter but if you didn't have a problem with the speed before and just needed more, then I don't think you should have a problem now.
  • Would you rather live in the ascendancy of a civilization or during its decline?
  • When people fish for compliments, should I humor them, ignore them, or insult them?

Depends on what you want from them and who they are to you.

So Rym and Scott repeatedly say that driving to Connecticon is worth it but not flying. I can theoretically drive to Hartford from my city but it is 16 hours.

Doesn't matter for this year, I wasn't going without my girlfriend, but next year should I drive?

16 hours is not driving distance. I'm sure there are conventions closer to you.

    [Maps of the Three Seas]

That map shows a distinctly anti-Ainoni bias.

Yes but they're not run anymore competently than Otakon.
