For folks who have invested in "better" clients for things like twitter, Facebook, etc: did you actually notice any improvement in the long run? I have a suspicion that the difference probably isnt worth even the small amount of cash they often cost.

Tweetbot doesn't show Twitter's ads, has useful muting rules (ignore user, hashtag, string for a day, a week, forever), useful display of embedded content, and is more “fun” to use. I would pay double what they cost.
I really enjoyed Anansi Boys thanks to Lenny Henry's reading. The characters had distinctive accents that I would have failed to imagine properly on my own.
I just bought this (8 GB, 1600 MHz, not seeing CAS but I thought it was 9) to upgrade my laptop. The old stick was this (4 GB, 1333 MHz, CAS 9). Do I run just the new one or both?
From what I've heard, sometimes running with two different size ram sticks only really shows weirdness in benchmarking tools, but for actual use its fine.
Well the old saying is that you're better off with more RAM that's a little slower than to have less RAM that's a little faster. Nowadays there are cases where faster RAM would matter but if you didn't have a problem with the speed before and just needed more, then I don't think you should have a problem now.
So Rym and Scott repeatedly say that driving to Connecticon is worth it but not flying. I can theoretically drive to Hartford from my city but it is 16 hours.
Doesn't matter for this year, I wasn't going without my girlfriend, but next year should I drive?

16 hours is not driving distance. I'm sure there are conventions closer to you.

Yes but they're not run anymore competently than Otakon.

It's like when I first got my glasses, except for my nose.
