Except I'm stripmining the sand underwater and the cobble in my portion of the mountain. Captialism, HO! Thankfully, structural support is an unknown concept in the minecraft world.
Keep it purdy. I'm already dreading fixing those strip-mined sandbanks near spawn.

My tactic is to take nothing but some Iron, Sticks, and a craftbench out, away from everything, dig down, mine a cavern till my inventory is full, teleport home. Then spend a half hour wandering about trying to figure out where the fuck I left that cavern.

Just make a tower of dirt so tall you can see it from the farthest regions. thats how I mark anything in single player

Ditto that. Though, I always add two sideways blocks at the bottom, and make the top a different colour, to make it visually distinct. It just seems a little messy for Tertius, though.

Meh, 3 days after I filled in a couple of those, they were once again mined.
Jason showed me the market a week or so ago. It's pretty hot shit. Also, my immense dig will continue upon my return to the states. Probably Tuesday. The new powered rails have me excited, despite their ludicrous expense.
I've implemented drag-and-drop trading with other players. No commands. Just punch another player with an empty hand. If the other player punches back, a trade can begin.

Fucking cool.

My design for a two-way automated stop with powered rails. Carts are accelerated up the ramp, because the detector powers its adjacent rails, but they brake on the down-slope rail. Pressing the button then sends you on your way again. You only really need one piece of raised track, but you could easily turn it into a scenic detour, or whatever. You've got about 30 blocks' worth of track to play with between powered sections. It needed the extra gap between the rails and the buttons because I couldn't press the button from inside the cart otherwise.
Attention: Yes, /spawn and /home spots have moved. I apologize. I combined two plugins into one plugin that has more functionality and uses less memory.
A new market has been built in a more central and far more accessible spot just yards from the spawn point. Look for the shops with the colorfully-striped tent tops.
To use a shop: - Punch signs to see what the shop is selling/buying and for how much. - Signs on the awnings also indicate what is being offered/bought. - To sell an item, hold it in your hand and right-click the vendor sign that is buying that item. - To purchase an item, hold gold ingots in your hand and right-click the vendor sign that is selling that item.
Get gold ingots by selling crap you don't need! This includes useless surplusses of dirt and cobblestone! Better gold returns come from fishing, farming wheat, sugarcane, or cactus, turning in redstone, etc. Have a big glass project? Skip the smelting wait and buy from the market! Dices! Chops! Purees! Much, much more!
But wait, that's not all! The old market has been converted into a wool market! Lots of colors on sale: Red, blue, orange, yellow, purple, green, pink, magenta, cyan, brown, gray, white, black, light blue....
We're having one hell of a thunderstorm. If the server goes down, I apologize. A lightning strike already shut down Internet access for a few minutes once tonight. Severe weather is expected through Saturday evening.

...that was probably me.
I'm awaiting for Jason to add cloth and dye to the market.
FOR SALE: One not-quite-so-finished castle in spitting distance of spawn. Make an offer.
Also, interior/exterior pictures please.
