From this point forward, Skyward Sword shall be referred to as Indiana Link and the Water Temple That Doesn't Suck. Nintendo must have watched a bunch of Indy movies while designing the Ancient Cistern, as everything you do with the Whip can be found in those movies.
Also, the boss fight is super fun and becomes incredibly badass in the second half.
I don't own the game, but I played a little of it at my friend's house and watched him play for a bit too. I enjoyed it, but the flying controls were so unintuitive and so bad that it made me want to punch myself in the face so I could become unconscious and stop playing.

The flying controls take a little bit to get used to, but they work just fine for me. Was the controller not centered properly or something?
I don't know. Granted, I didn't spend that much time with the game to really get used to the controls, but as I was flying and trying to fly through the "donut" rocks to get the speed boost, I was just having an incredibly hard time trying to fly straight ahead, without veering to the left or right. Could be just me though...
Finished up last night. My non-spoilery thoughts: This is a modern Zelda. It's not crazy hard, the puzzles won't stump you for too long, in a day and age where we have little to zero attention spans the game (after the opening hour) is a NON STOP roller coaster of action and puzzles and fights. Side quests are 100% optional. Once the game starts, it really never lets up.
Is it "teh best" Zelda ever? Probably not. But this is EXACTLY what Zelda needs to be. Well paced, fun and just a very modern game structure. Nit picking aside (slow scroll speed, annoying camera, SD) I thoroughly loved it from start to finish and basically didn't put it down for 2 weeks.
It just felt like a modern Zelda. Not much more to say. It's just a really fun and enjoyable game.

Honestly, though, considering the Zelda series it's not much of a spoiler. The spoiler is YOU FIGHT GANON.
Those fuckers. I was off the AC crack for years now, and they give me a little fix. I am tempted to start playing AC on the Wii again.
