I looked for coffee recipe... musta missed it.

Anyway, yeah, I found some cocoa beans, taught it to my tablet, then transmuted more. Then light dawned on marble head and I just started transmuting cookies.

It should be there, and there should be several items that come up when you search for it. Coffee Beans are created as part of IC2 crops though, and IC2 crops are nearly entirely random. It's one of the few I haven't been able to cross breed out.

Can I get a white list? Dromaro is the name.

Also, we are doing this all natural, right? Or are we generating stuff?

  • All natural... as long as you consider transmutation and people generating EE out of thin air natural.

    You're in.

  • Aaaaand server's down.
  • Looks up to me, but I restarted it just in case.
  • Okay, before it just wasnt getting even a connection. Now it's saying "Connection Refused: Connect".

I think the host is having issues. I started it again, but I have to go to bed. I'll have to follow up tomorrow, sorry. :(

    It *might* be good now...

  • Server seems OK today.

FYI: You can pipe items out of an Energy Condenser with BuildCraft, ****HOWEVER****, you *must* make certain that no buildcraft pipe EVER touches an EE relay or collector. EVER. It will corrupt the world file and we'll have to revert to a backup.

So, used carefully, you can create autocrafting of just about anything pretty easily. Like solar arrays.

Yup. Also redpower filters/transposers act a lot like the wooden pipe and engine setup in buildcraft. Depending on your particular setup they may be better to use.

Omnu, are you still interested in the railroad project? I've been reading up on Railcraft and signaling and I'm very interested. I'd love to make a massive transit network.

On another topic, I think we need to extend invitations beyond FRCF and see what happens. The server is pretty underutilized. We'd need to do some vetting, though. I'm not worried about griefers since everybody will be "sponsored" by an FRC person, but more "philosophical differences"... :-)

  • I'm against the idea.

    I'm against the idea.
Can you give any reasons? Otherwise your post just seems a little hostile.

The most players online at any given point has been, I think, 9. It was an historic event. Typical/average is 2. I'm alone on the server for hours and I'm pretty sure you are, too.

It's pretty hard to get any collaborations going in that environment.

  • While I wholly understand your reasons and do not find them illegitimate, my stance is as such: This is the FRCF server. We're the FRCF. We know each other and trust each other (at least to a certain degree). As big a community as we are, we're kinda a tight knit group with the common thread of the forum.

If you wanna bring people on, bring em on the forum as well!
  • That's a lot of vocabulary... :-)

I've invited a few people to the forum. I think the Pony thread scared them off again. :-)

I know one fellow applied and his application expired or something, he didn't try again.

On a side note: the forums at technicpack.net are FILLED to the brim with dicks, up to and including the admins. Holy crap.

I have invited two technically non-FRCF people, but they have spent time with FRC in person at cons -- so it seems ok to me. They expressed some interest in the forums, but it isn't a big priority.

  • Some people just aren't forum people.
  • I think outside people are fine as long as they know someone here and aren't total randos.

Vaguely, you should look into redpower and tubes for your solar panel factory. There's LOTS of good stuff in this mod that allows you to make much more complex designs with way more complex internal logic than buildcraft.

The only potential issue is that instead of leaks, you get clogs, but redpower gives you better methods to deal with them.

  • will do. thanks
  • Every single component is a pain in the ass to craft, though. :-)
  • the decent only tutorial i've found requires bluetricity..?
  • There are only 2 or 3 redpower machines that require bluetricity. The tubes/filters/transposers only require a redstone signal (that must be intermittent).

This documentation is a little thrown together but is pretty useful regardless:
    http://integratedredstone.wikispaces.com/Redpower+Machine
  • Yeah red power is a much better solution than build craft for any fast, large, or time dependent piping. The big disadvantages that I've seen are that it's mostly single target, and timers can make a system less compact where timing is important.
  • The annoyance for me is the need to pulse everything intermittently to make it work.
  • Pulse it with computercraft.
  • I think that'd be way more server intensive than timers. But timers seem unreliable. Might just be my client rendering frames unreliably.
