Actually I think I'm the biggest culprit with anchors right now. Given that we have a 22 slot server and only 3 people on at a time most of the time, I doubt seriously it's an issue. I can't explain why chunks seem to be loading slower than a week ago, though. It's most likely my aging client hardware moreso than the server.
I rarely use my Anchor, I have one I figured out how to built myself. Only when I need a lot of EMC during a time I'm not going to be around. It's currently in my inventory, inactive.
How do people feel about publishing a "sound pack" for the FRC Tekkit server? It's possible to add more sounds to the howler alarm so that you can have sound effects triggered by redstone signals, but everyone has to have the sounds on their client for it to work. I'm willing to build a small library of sounds and write up instructions for installing them. Then I'd add them to the server config and you could have things like doorbells, extra ambient sounds triggered by your favorite redstone-based detection schemes, and so on. Your toilet could make a flushing noise!
Ativan was really something last night. After my MRI I came home, logged into Tekkit, and manually upgraded nearly 1000m of track to high speed rail before falling asleep...
No idea whatsoever, but I went from freaking out about the head cage to getting yelled at by the tech for falling asleep and moving while the imaging was going on.
Utilization on the server is super low. Is this an indicator that everyone is bored, or busy with school? I'd like an informal poll. :-)
I'm considering the possibility of a server reset and also the removal of EE. Anything major the community wants to build would have to be a team effort as a result. No condensing valuable materials, etc.
The black hole band has a duplication bug, the flying ring makes all attempts at transportation obsolete, no reason for electric plants, etc. I'm inclined, like 99% of the rest of Tekkit server admins, to just turn EE off.
The last few dozen hours I've spent on the server building, I've spent alone or in the company of one other (varying) player for maybe 30 minutes at a time. I think interest in the EE free-for-all version of the FRC Tekkit server is just gone.
There's some cool stuff on the server, but for the most part it's just laying dormant which is great as a museum but not as a game experience.
been busy, doing work, hosting couch surfers. i'll probably be on tonight. -- Keep the server as-is, people can pursue EE-free lifestyle, by choice. -- Open the server up to invitation by referral, so everyone is vouched for.
