I had a great time; hopefully I wasn't "That Guy".
dude. Said it before in the that guy thread, you were never that to me when we hung out at East. (^_-)
What Ro said. Though I do remember a distinct amount of "OH SHIT OH SHIT I HOPE I DON'T GET PAX POX" going through my mind that time we roomed together. Turned out I didn't get PAX POX in the end though! I feel really bad that you did. :-(
Well, we had a pretty nice post-PAX gathering. I might have made a fool of myself, but you can consider that a rare collectible considering how smart I am the rest of the time. It's too bad I had to leave early.
You did not make a fool of yourself at all. You did well, mate. Casa vino was there with friends, who were all great(so was he, very handsome, too), was astounded to find someone who actually not only listens to FNPL but recognized me independent of being a forum person. While I can't speak for everybody, I think we all had fun. Drinks were had, stories were told, and Melbourne is cold to us all.
Damn, sounds fun. Next year I am hoping to be there. Although I'd rather it in almost any city besides Melbourne since friends or family would make housing free.

I like his voice. Mark (hopefully I'm remembering that right) has a great voice.
Now I just have to make it to my flight and/or fail in epic fashion, Burning Wheel style.
I have to admit the latter has been a strong temptation, although perhaps one driven primarily by the Nonman part of my brain. It would, after all, be...memorable.
Things I wanted to do but didn't - for various reasons - in decreasing order of importance: - A game of Mafia. - Learn Netrunner. - See the Oculus Rift demo. - Hang out at the Riot Games booth. - Play Johann Sebastian Joust.
Retrospectively, I also should have played PC games with Scrym, given the opportunity to do so without a huge latency barrier.
Good reviews all round! My group had a blast and the random post pax beverages with you all was a top way to wind up our brief Melbourne sojourn. Safe travels people. I expect a full report on whom can bring the red sparks at go-karting!
Does anyone have advice on recovering from uncontrollable bouts of crying?
I'm 90% sure they're tears of joy but this is getting really annoying.
I've found staring somberly out of a train window helps. (Seriously. I'm not being a jackass)
In the long term, I tend to prepare for PCD (Post Con Depression) before the con starts, now. I put aside a day to feel sad and mopey before the con. It helps a surprising amount. Also, trailing off, rather than a hard stop, helps. Going straight from Omegathon Finale to Real Life is like shifting from fifth into reverse. Post-con gaming is key.
Damn I missed out on seeing you on Friday night; I was stuck in an epic Korean BBQ meal with some of my Steam friends.
I didn't even get to see Casa Vino again even though he was in my hotel. I only got to say hi to Churba during his enforcing duties but nothing else. At least I played a bit and hung out with Lackofcheese, Scott and Rym.
Hmm, my body is actually ready to go for another day of PAX but I know it's not happening.
Also it seems that people outside of my industry get more free time to pursue gaming and socialised gaming since they don't work 6 hours a week with random days off, working anywhere from 10 - 15 hours.
It's cool man, next time. Sorry I didn't catch you more, but glad to meet you. It was crazy - I even found multiple FNPL listeners who recognized me, blew my mind. Super amazing to meet each and every one of you. Stories later. Drunk sleep now.

What?! Seriously?! You had better share said stories on FNPL this month.

Nice to meet you all! I'll honestly go back to lurking the forums once every few months until next PAX Aus now though.

Among other things, my evidence is this.
I'll give more details once I have a proper keyboard in front of me.

On that note, I really need sleep.
