Ya know, I'm no digital security expert. But from what I know about my 2-factor, someone with my password could try backup codes reserved for if I lose my token until they have one that removes it. No? I mean I would see them trying this and be alerted by google but is that really what is saving me?

The fact that the possibility space for those codes is huge, and there's like, 9 of them total?
Eh, this happened a while ago, but it's not necessary when they officially announce that you can use all your Android apps in Chrome, most Android Apps work the same or better. Google Books is an example where the Android app is leaps and bounds ahead of the Chrome OS version.
How could anyone have ever thought that was a good idea or exist as a real project? It was super dumb from the start, super dumb when Google decided to keep working on it, and super dumb right up until it was cancelled.
