So you're saying music theory and what makes enjoyable melodies can only work if there's live instrumentation? (Hint: If you are, I'mma disagree with you hard)
I can verify that Peter keeps an excel spreadsheet with a week to week break down of the pubic hair length of all his friends. It's very weird and we have been considering an intervention.
I've listened to the album quite a bit over the past week and, for the most part, I'm really enjoying it. There's been chat here about how music apes low fidelity, and adding in crunchiness or grit makes it more human and appealing. Or something. What I like about RAM is that it is a statement of musical intent, in that they aimed for pure, without the crutch or excuse of that grit, so the songs stand or fall on the 100% intentionality of every moment they contain. If technology can allow you to do anything, anything at all, what should you make?
That said, no matter how many times I've listened to "Touch" and "Fragments of Time", now I simply skip them as soon as they start. "Touch" has some really good stuff in it, but a section in the middle ruins the rest. "Fragments of Time" should simply be deleted from the album, as there's nothing about it I like or enjoy or even appreciate.
Otherwise I think it's a very good album in terms of being a unified whole. That's not a requirement for me to like an album, but it helps.
I'm certainly going to buy it when it comes out (or is it released already?).
There's some really fun interview audio from Nile Rogers about producing disco over the top of the same tracks. Were these in the DJ set? If so, that's just genius.

(I was listening to Aphex Twin before most of you had pubic hair).
[Ninja'd] Haha, yep.
EDIT: Oh look, there was another page.
Anamanaguchi should have chopped the album in half and cooked the "just OK" songs some more.

Kimi driving, too. Those gloves and helmet look pretty daft, though.
