  • I want to know what FFF is all about. Jeremy is updating our list. We'll post it soon.

    My body is ready.
  • By soon, is when he's not playing the new xpac of WoW.
  • Did that come out? That might explain why some of my coworkers look sleepy.
  • I, too, would like to see this alleged game.

Here's my tentative list of what I'm bringin':

If you really want to play one of the games from my collection (http://tinyurl.com/hpfd42n) not in that list, just let me know!

  • I personally think The Grizzled, Mysterium, and Witness are excellent choices for cooperative games. (no offense to The Thing)
  • Express interest in any of the following. I purposefully don't list games I know others are already bringing or which are easy to find in the library.

    Glory to Rome
    Mottainai
    Modern Art
    Zendo
    Amun Re
    Camel Up + Expansions
    El Grande
    Tikal

Flash Point leers at you from across the room.
  • I've been wanting to see this Camel Cup you're all talking about.
  • Knowing El Grande might hit the table makes the sting of missing another PAX West all the more severe.

I just picked up Mottainai, so I can bring that if you want to save space, same with Camels (minus the referee). Nice thing about living in Seattle is that I can bring pretty much anything I have whenever needed. I will make a list of all the stuff we have.

Mottainai is so tiny, and multiple sets mean easy play. It's a good between-games game.

If you bring camels, I'll bring just the expansion.

I have not played it with pro gamers in a long, long time. Real curious if conventional strategies hold up.
  • We can bring Camels as well with referee. It may not be a bad idea to have 2 for large groups. We have it all. But yeah, I'll talk with Jeremy to figure out for sure what we're bringing.
  • Already know I enjoy Mottainai (with 2-3 players) and Glory to Rome (with 3-4 players, Imperium rules).

Curious about El Grande. Will play more Amun-Re and Camel Up any time.

I'm looking forward to more 6p Quartermaster General. Also excited to teach Russian Railroads, because that's quickly become a top favorite since I played it earlier this year.
  • OK, I'll just leave Camels at home. I'll bring rare games and small games only. Definitely El Grande: it's too powerful for so few of you to have played it.
  • Are you bringing The Warren, Rym? I'll play (or run). I imagine it'll be at Games on Demand, too.

    Oh shit!

Yeah... Maybe I should bring that. I haven't even fully read it yet, but I got time.

  • Here is my board game list. Since I have to bus it to the convention center, I'm going to focus on bringing smaller games, but will bring a bigger one if there's an ask for it.
  • theknoxinator: You should be good bringing whatever. There's nothing on that list I won't play. Well... Twilight Struggle might be a tough sell for PAX, but other than that.

    Re: the new Tuesday episode.

We can ride this expansion train as far as you want.

Personally I'm okay with never playing Twilight Struggle again, it's just not something I can get into. I only still have it because it didn't cost me anything to get, and I don't know anyone else who wants it.

I want it. I was talking to James Portnow on one of his streams and told him of my love for Hansa and Carcassone and Puerto Rico; he recommended Twilight Struggle. I've been on the lookout ever since just to see if he's right and it's up my ally. TBD

Well if you're going to be at PAX, I will gladly pass it along. I think at that point it will become the official FRC copy of the game since I got it from Rym.
  • He's a good guy. But be warned: the kind of game it is is vastly different from either of the two games you brought up. Entirely different pedigree.
  • I've got a copy of Twilight Struggle. What you don't know is that it's eternally a struggle to find someone to play it with you (especially this crowd)
  • It's only good if you play with the same person over and over again, or play with someone who's played it the same number of times that you have, plus or minus 5 times.
  • Play against the AI a couple dozen times: http://store.steampowered.com/app/406290/

Repeated online and AI games are how I learned Blue Moon, Race for the Galaxy, Innovation, Puerto Rico, and Mü. I can't reliably get face to face games for all of them.

I will not be at PAX, I'll be both out of country and am a relative newcomer to cons that are actually... good.

I wasn't aware there was an AI in that game, I'd seen it. May grab both that and puerto rico. While I have players in my insular gaming group we I don't have that game and we don't play puerto rico enough for my liking.
