  • He'll claim that was an exaggeration made to show his feelings on the health bill or something like that.
  • I vote we organize a Rush-for-Rush trade with Canada: Limbaugh for Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart.

Not even the Edmonton Oilers would make that trade.

To quote a popular opinion circa 2003: "If you don't like it then you can geeeet out!'

  • The first amendment, introduced by anti-abortion Democrats, bans federal funds for abortion services in the public option and in the insurance "exchange" the bill would create. Its consideration was considered a big win for them and for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, which used its power -- especially with conservative Democrats in swing congressional districts -- to help force other Democratic leaders to permit a vote that most of them oppose.
*sigh* Well, at least Rush is gonna leave. At least that...
  • We've had a National Heath Service here (in the UK) since the 40's. It's a wonderful institution indeed. I really don't mind paying higher taxes to fund a wonderful service.

While I am happy to throw that back in the conservatives face... I'm not one to stoop to their level.

And you are better for it, good sir.
  • I wonder if Rush Limbaugh will keep his word?

He said he is thinking of moving to Costa Rica, which on its official web site boasts ofstrong, universal health insurance and excellent public and private hospitals.
It's one of the few things that work down here, there is a lot of "Medical Tourism", the system has it's flaws of course, but it works.

I've heard in some places, though, there is also a lot of tourism for fake medicine. For example, Martin Luther King's wife died in a Mexican fake medicine clinic. Such a clinic would have been illegal in the US.

Here is more about plastic surgery, dental work, etc. We have the regular homeopathy, chiropractors and snake oil/magnet power peddlers.

Obviously if I were to say it in real life it'd be with a heavy side of sarcasm (Jon Stewart style)
  • CNN article (questions and answers about healthcare reform)

Question: Is there anything in the bill about rationing health care?

Answer: No one is using the term "rationing" as part of the bill. But there is a term called comparative effectiveness. And that's this idea that we figure out what works in medicine and make sure to pay for those things. This also means that there are a lot of things being done right now where there's not scientific proof that it works and maybe those things won't get paid any more. Some people call that rationing. Other people say, look, rationing exists under the current system. It's just that the insurance companies are essentially rationing by denying payment or dropping people off their coverage.

I wonder if this means that insurance will not be able to cover fake medicine!!!!! Yes!

Until I see the perpetrators of these acts brought in I'll withhold judgment as to whether they were right wingers or left wing plants. It would not be the first time such a thing has happened.

Yes, rationing exists in the current system and it will exist in a government system. The difference is that you can sue your insurance company. The government? Not so much...

Are you being serious, or just taking the piss?

There are Loony Left Wingers, and there are loony right wingers. It comes as absolutely no surprise to me that there would be people like this on BOTH sides, in fact, You'd have to be pretty naive to think otherwise. So, Why is it that when Right wing loonies smash windows, you need proof it's not a Left-wing plant? Did you need the same evidence when left wing loonies smash windows that they are not Right Wing plants?

No, he's serious. Have you ever seen a brick-chucking Commie woman drink water? Of course not. That's why I only drink rainwater and grain alcohol.

It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious windows without the knowledge of the individual, and certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works. I first became aware of it, Churba, during the physical act of love...Yes, a profound sense of fatigue, a feeling of emptiness followed. Luckily I-I was able to interpret these feelings correctly. Loss of essence. I can assure you it has not recurred, Churba. Brick-throwing plants, er, brick-throwing plants sense my power, and they seek the life essence. I do not avoid liberal women, Churba...but I do deny them my essence.

They're out to contaminate our precious windows.

WindUpBird, you are my thing of the day.
  • Evidence enough?
Vanderboegh is referring to his blog called Sipsey Street Irregulars. He says his invitation to “break windows…break them now” is behind the incident in Rochester and at least two others in Tucson and Kansas. The message to Democrats should be clear.

"Wake up and understand what is happening in this country. You need to start listening to people who you think you didn't have to pay any attention to, because sooner or later they will get your attention," he says.
  • I love how these people think they are the majority. Liberals might need to rethink their stance of the second amendment if this keeps up. >_>

Sweet. You going to answer the question, then?

    For reference -
Why is it that when Right wing loonies smash windows, you need proof it's not a Left-wing plant? Did you need the same evidence when left wing loonies smash windows that they are not Right Wing plants?
  • Cut gas lines?

And I suppose that when a left-wing plant is drumming up hate for the right, he creates an explosion hazard that could also send him away for a VERY long time. I mean, come on. That's just common sense.
  • One bad apple does not ruin the whole bunch. Every sizable group has its share of crazy people.

Churba, when did I say I only need proof when one side is accused?
