Churba, when did I say I only need proof when one side is accused?
I've certainly never observed you asking for the same evidence when the situation is reversed. Obviously I'm not around you 24 hours a day, so you may have. However, since I've never observed you doing it, I have to ask, rather than just relying on memory. To answer your question, No, I have never seen you say that you only needed proof when one side is accused - but as I've just said, I've also never seen you asking for proof when the other side is accused in a similar fashion.
You're right, one bad apple doesn't ruin the whole bunch, and every group does have crazy people, of course, depending on one's varying definition of crazy - They obviously don't think they're crazy, for example.
However, you've still not answered the question - which, I might add, your response did not address except in the most tertiary fashion - which I will restate to be as clear as possible: Why do you need to see proof it's not a left wing plant when right wing loonies smash windows, when you do not - at least that I have been able to observe or find - ask for proof of the reverse, that when Left wing loonies smash windows, again, just as an example, you don't seem to require proof that it's not a right wing plant?
A guy on the campus police, who knows I like debating stupid people, told me that an Anti-Government-healthcare group just filed a permit to set up a booth on Monday afternoon; I've got three free hours Monday afternoon. Gimmie some stuff to use against them.
Hey Sonic, have you got a video camera? It'd be interesting to get this on video to show people. There's probably a media student somewhere who'd help.

Churba, this is a "when did you stop beating your wife" question. You are asking me to defend a position I have not taken while at the same time accusing me of taking said position. If I were to answer your question the mere act of answering would be to admit that the beliefs you ascribe to me are truly mine.
I have proclaimed a preference for apple pie in the past but my lack of stating a preference for pecan pie should not in any way be taken to mean my lack of stating a preference equates to a negative preference. At best the status of my preference for pecan pie can only be described as 'unknown' until such time as a preference is made known.
Unless you can prove that I have required differing levels of proof as you are so quick to ascribe to me?

No, it isn't. I'm asking you "Why are you doing action A, when you do not appear to do Action B, when under the same logic, it is equally reasonable"?
To use your own pie analogy, I'm not saying that because you like Apple, you don't like Pecan. I'm saying "So, You appear to eat apple pie, why don't you eat Pecan, at least as far as I know?" - You could reply "Well, I do like pecan pie, you just haven't seen me eat it." or maybe "No, I'm allergic to Pecans" or "I just don't like pecans."
Now, if you're done making a merry little bonfire of strawmen, can you please answer the question?
It might just be me being crazy tired and not thinking too clear, but what do you mean?
When you said "Merry little bonfire of strawmen," I immediately thought of Nick Cage in The Wicker Man, screaming "How'd it get burned!?" HOW'D IT GET BURNED?!?"

Ah, shit, reference fail. I need to sleep something serious.
Churba, you are making an assumption that I would not ask for proof if the political sides were reversed. You have stated that you have no proof that I have acted in such a hypocritical manner in the past yet you are asking me to defend myself for acting as if I had. Do you not see why I can not answer your question?
You might as well ask me why I don't like pecan pie.

Your constant dancing around the question already has. Don't worry about it, s'all good.
Do you like pecan pie? I'm actually vaguely interested now. I don't think I've ever had pecan pie, don't know if I like it or not.

Pecan Pie is one of the better type of pie in existence; somew here between Apple Pie and Pumpkin pie in its level of deliciousness.

Can't stand it, myself. Maybe I've been eating the wrong pies, but I don't like the texture and it's always been too sweet. As long as we're discussing pie, it also has the problem that most pies have; it does not have peaches in it.
To answer the question you did not ask, yes I am always skeptical of claims made during a political event. Any large gathering of protesters will always have a certain level of 'party crashers' in attendance.
You didn't ask me that question though. Instead you assumed I would be a hypocrite and then asked me to defend my hypocritical position.

Pecan pie? No idea, never tried it.
Ah, that's all I was wondering. A very sensible position - politics is a dirty game.
And You seem to be stuck on this idea that I was thinking any less of you - Not at all. I just refused to make the opposite assumption on no evidence, and who better to ask about your position that yourself? You should stop reading so far into the question - I'm really not that circumspect, if I wanted to accuse you of being or otherwise imply you were being a hypocrite, I'd come out and say "You're a hypocrite, and here is why I think that." Why waste time dancing around the issue, if that was what I was going to do?
@ The Tick: In response to your statement regarding government insurance and the ability to sue: 1) Do you even understand the bill? Other than Medicaid and Medicare, no one is covered by the government. The weeny Democrats got rid of any sweeping public insurance to appease the right (and the right still didn't come to the table or bring any votes). 2) You can sue the government. It happens quite a bit actually for a myriad of reasons. I actually sued NYS, because I was hit by a car on a SUNY campus and their cross walk had faded to the point of being practically invisible. 3) Think before you type.
Yeap. Sovereign Immunity is a bitch. It does make sure that all of our tax dollars don't have to go to pay out petty lawsuits, though, and for that I am thankful.
The bill was crap anyways. It was never about health care reform. How is forcing people to buy health insurance (from private companies no less) reform? they should have just opened up medicare/medicaid to more people and dropped the salary limit on those taxes.

Republicans fliped a shit when that was suggested. That's why.

It was passed without them. If Democrats have to "own the bill" they should have made sure it was the bill they wanted.

Honestly, I just LOVE riling up these people. ^_^

Peach cobbler is for champions. Cornmeal FTW.
