For me it's not audio quality or low quality jokes, it's that for some reason most anime fans voices aregrating! I can't listen to them talk regardless of audio quality because their voices just drive me nuts!
Which is one of the reasons I don't have a podcast, because I figure my voice would be annoying as well.
Honestly, this is why I can't listen to Anime World Order. I'm sure they're nice folks, but some voices hit you the wrong way. An hour or more of that is insurmountable.
Oh that's right I had a question. Is there an easy way to copy the names of the podcasts I listen to from iTunes to somewhere like here? Or do I have to write them out?
At the bottom, there's the ones I've tried and rejected. Otaku Generation - too long, not enough payoff. It's just not funny enough. Weekly Anime Review - I can't help but find this boring, I guess I just have a problem with one-person podcasts. Greatest Movie Ever Podcast - Okay, just not really good enough to get me to care.
In the middle rest most of the podcasts I listen to. Geeknights, obviously. . Ninja Consultants - updates too infrequently, and often it's just long con report, rather than an episode. And Erin's annoying friend is on more often that Noah. Fast Karate for the Gentleman - great podcast, but too short and totally unserious. Often hilarious, though.
At the top is Anime World Order. This is such a great, great podcast. It is perfect. Long, released semi-regularly, entertaining, and informative.

I've got Geeknights, Artist Alley, Anime World Order, and Fast Karate in my list of regulars. I'm going to go add the GREATEST movie ever, too. I remember that guy... Good times.
I've been poking about for something from ABC radio as well (Australian company...not your American ABC, whatever that is) as I like listening to Radio National. I might end up just listening to the conventional ABC news and the Astrology bit. *pokes some more*
EDIT: Is 12 Byzantine Emperors the same as 12 Byzantine Rulers? That's all an itunes search turns up?

Anime World Order Sorry about my original version of this, dunno what happened there
The Anime World Order podcast has a lot of faults but they are why you listen.
Geeknights is hard to rate as it's daily so the anticipation on Mondays isn't as great as you only have to wait three days. To be honest, do you really need to rate podcasts into anything other than listen or not?
To be honest, do you really need to rate podcasts into anything other than listen or not?
Pretty much.
Anyway I ran into so many podcasts and dropped so much I don't remeber all of them. Except of Otaku Generation! Argh! Even when they talk about a topic I want to listen to they fuck it up with all the trailing off and nicknames and crappy song breaks. Then after forever they get to the topic and it sucks or they trail off. Argh! It's don't mind trailing off if its funny but it's never funny! Also there's Anime Pulse but I never listen to more than two episodes. It didn't appeal to me.
Shows I love: Geeknights (duh) Fast Karate (They're seriously not serious thus I ) Anime World Order (I'm a fucking anime fan duh!) Destroy All Podcasts DX (Jeremy has a hot voice and I like anime) Super Happy Anime Fun Time (Reminds me of a few friends and anime) Happy House of Hentai (Well...er...heh *blush*) Friday Night Party Line (The one that's NOT anime) Ninja Consultants (Moar episodes!! Plus I like anime) WARP (anime...I like it) Lather's Blather (I anime) Indie Spinner Rack (Just started and love it) Garage Punk podcast (I love that music) Anime 82 (Newbie but I like it enough. 80's anime man) Anime Utahime (will miss T_T)
Stuff I dropped: Otaku Generation (see rant above list) Anime Pulse (meh)
Stuff I listen to regularly: All 4 Days of Geeknights Extralife Radio Anime World Order 1UP Yours KOXM Radio Anime Pulse Dave and Joel's Fast Karate for the Gentleman The Greatest Movie Ever! Podcast Infendo Radio Major Nelson Super Happy Anime Fun Time

Shows I Like: - 12 Byzantine Emperors - Anime World Order - Destroy All Podcasts DX - Dave and Joel's Fast Karate for the Gentlemen - Scott Sigler Audiobooks - 7th Son
Shows I Dropped: - Weekly Anime Review (It was too dry for my taste and bored me to death.) - Anime Pulse (I already gave an extended tirade about them.) - Anime Genesis (The host is quite possibly the most uninteresting person ever and has no personality to speak of. Roughly half of the episodes consist of vocal fillers.) - Ask a Ninja (After a while, the whole ninja shtick got really old.)
Buzz Out Loud (General Tech) The 404 (A Dude-cast) Gadgettes (Two cool chicks talk about the latest gadgets) The Real Deal (Serious talk about tech) Security Bites (Digital Security) 1UP Yours (General Gaming) GFW Radio (PC Gaming) EGM Live (General Gaming) Skeptics Guide to the Universe (You all should know this podcast) Extralife Radio (General nerdery) PC Gamer Podcast (Pc... gaming) Treks in SCI FI (Biggest nerd in the world talks about science fiction) Daily Affirmation with Scott and Kris (good for shits and giggles)
