I love cockatiels! I had two of them when I lived in Australia. Having a cat and them being fucking expensive in the US makes me not want to get another one though.
I started using DuoLingo recently for Spanish, and I'm loving it. I've heard it goes to shit towards the end, but as long as this helps me get a grip on the basics, I can take it from there on my own if needed.
They have tracks for Spanish, German, Italian, and Portuguese. So go nuts.

The accents are exactly as I expected. As is the tone of the chatter. I recently read World War In The Balance and wondered how close the dialogue of the bomber crew was to reality. Turns out? Spot on!
So, I've finally got a few extra bucks and I'm going to the aforementioned pie-not for some Aussie meat pies. I've also found out that an excellent doughnut shop opened up next door to it.
Would you guys recommend the maple bacon doughnut? I've never had one and I'm dubious.

I've never had one either, but I can assure you that bacon tastes delicious on desserts. I've had bacon brownies before; they're actually very tasty. I don't see why a donut would be any different.
My parents are visiting me in Madison, in order to see me and to bring some things I couldn't ship. My brother decided to visit from Ann Arbor as well, because it was a chance to see them and because it also coincided nicely with my mother's birthday.
So for her birthday, we decided to tour the local craft breweries. We got up, ate brunch, and went out all day. We managed to make it to four breweries over the course of the day, and between us sampled (by my count) 31 different beers. At the end of the evening, we drove back to my apartment and had martinis.

Or I could just stick an old smartphone in a case and set it to timelapse.
