This mask makes you see the world like an LSD trip...and it looks AWESOME!
I call bullshit on their selective hearing thing. There is no way a directional microphone that could fit in that mask would be able to get that clean of an recording off of a guy that far away. Even a full sized shotgun mic would have a hard time. And then to filter out the ambient noise? Guess what? A lot of that noise is human speech. There would be a metric fuck ton of overlapping frequencies that you would be hard-pressed to filter out and produce the level of quality they displayed in that video. So, I call bullshit; that guy had a lav on him or something.

  • That article is hilarious. I think that is a great article of satire for the Trayvon Martin case and the right wing response to it.
  • I really don't think it has anything to do with Trayvon Martin, but rather the larger issue of violence in black neighborhoods, specifically south Chicago.
  • Stop the culture of white violence.
This and the original article he wrote are so good 8-)
  • I especially love how he keeps saying "you won't see this in the mainstream media" despite the fact that he is the mainstream media.
  • The term black on black crime never made sense to me since most violent crimes are committed by someone the victim knows. So the term white on white crime would be just as valid/dumb.

  • Just discovered the Smarter Every Day channel on Youtube. Great stuff.

First saw the penis/priapism one. It made me cringe a bit.

Then saw an older one about cat flipping.

When half of Rialto, CA's police department is given always-on cameras, there was an 88% decline in complaints against them. There was also a 60% decline in use of force overall, with camera-wearing officers using force half as much as their non-recorded peers.

I'm so glad this is starting to catch on.

EDIT: Also, they look pretty badass.

  • Basically that, Plus google glass, plus a few short hops forward in technology, and you're looking at policenet from Charlie Stross's Halting state and Rule 34.

Yep. And I am 100% in favor of this.

Ditto that - Sure, they can pull up your information at a moment's notice on their Google glass-like display, but they've also got a device recording them full time on shift, that they can't switch off, so what are they gonna do with it?

My thing of my day is that, despite all the attempts at making bad guys in games, most people can agree that Tom Nook is on an entirely other level of evil.

I am never in favor of looking at rule 34.
