DOUBLE POST EXTRAVAGANZA Jose Padilha’s Robocop remake is not the only one making the rounds these days… “Our RoboCop Remake,” a crowd-sourced project, is a scene-for-scene remake of the 1987 Paul Verhoeven classic. How did they do it? They got 55 filmmakers to direct 55 different scenes. Some are live action, some are animated and ten different actors are playing Officer Alex J. Murphy.
Twitch used confusion on Pokemon Red. It's super effective!
Watching Red try to simply go up the steps on a path had me absolutely mesmerized. He walked around in a circle for a while, then stared at his helix fossil for a while which prompted the chat room to ask the mighty helix for guidance. Then in an attempt to once again try to move up the steps Red taught his Rattata thunderbolt.

Slightly relevant to current book club book. If you guys haven't seen the conversation Hugh Howey's started about author earnings and self-publishing in the last couple of weeks you should check it out. He's a self-described geek about this stuff. The reads are slightly long, but very interesting and thought provoking if you're into it.
My opinion is that, regardless of sales data, full-time self-publishing is slightly too chimerical to be compared with traditional publishing at this point. They are officially different beasts and have been for some time. They both have their pros, cons, and caveats. If you're lucky enough to have your choice of either... then have fun picking your poison.
Anyway, personally I'm in the middle of picking this particular iteration of this stuff apart and thought to share.
They definitely wrote the Starlord character for Chris Pratt.
I kind of agree, kind of disagree. Starlord in the new GOTG comics is actually pretty similar, and there's some of the old starlord in there too, lurking in the background - though it's hard to tell from a trailer.
But, on the other hand, I think they also picked the right guy to play starlord, and they have tailored this iteration of the character to be best played by Chris Pratt.

I remember when I first saw the original and couldn't stop laughing.

Start with Mike Shatzkin's blog where he gives a response to Hugh's controversial author earnings report and see where the rabbit hole goes:
