Trust me on this guys, this is how every shonen fighting show goes. The Coyotes are now down 3-1, and this is the part when they come back and win the semi-finals and be one of the few teams to come back 3-0. Then they will continue on to win the Stanley Cup against the New York Rangers. Trust me, it's the ultimate underdog story happening here.

You shouldn't say things that we can quote when they don't happen.
Winning a series after being down three games to none has happened a grand total of three times in the NHL. I really can't see Phoenix becoming the 4th. Chicago almost did it last year, but it's really too hard to get done.

A baseplate with an engraved logo. Usually I believe it's the logo of the hockey Hall of Fame. But I think at points I've seen the cup liftend with some plastc cover with an NHL logo on it. Not sure though.
Anyway, good for the Kings. For for Richards, Gagne and Hextall. They should have had their names on the Cup for a while. It just sucks that it didn't happen with the Flyers.
If you look up "hockey player" in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of Ian Laperriere. The man now officially retires from hockey. Tremendous human being and one of the toughest people to ever play the game.
So this is two months old, but I just saw it again and thought I should share because it's awesome:
Pretty amazing the strength on 40-year-old Jagr. Still just walks in and stick-handles with one hand while Dupuis tries to pull him down with both. But hey, if you want to know why the Penguins lost that series, just watch that goal. Their starting goalie already pulled, four of their skaters do elevator practice while the fifth apparently traveled back in time to 2004 and then is credulous how Jagr wasn't penalized for protecting the puck..
The Flyers have signed Shea Weber to an offer sheet with more than a 100 Million dollars and a 14 year contract. And people said this offseason was boring.
So what does that mean for people not in the know. Shea Weber is probably the most sought after defenseman. However, Weber is a restricted free agent, which means he is only allowed to sign with his own team, the Nashville Predators. Other teams can sign him to a contract called an offer sheet, but if they do the team has the right to match this contract within a week, and Weber is forced to sign it with them. If the team doesn't they will be compensated, and in this case the compensation would be the Flyers next four 1st round draft picks awarded to the Predators.
Now, the question is, does Nashville even want to match. There is a question on whether Nashville can pony up the money for him, and past negotiations also didn't work out so well between Nashville and Weber. For one, Weber hasn't signed a contract with them yet despite being without a question their highest priority player. For two, last year he was awarded his last contract (1 year, 7 million) only after arbitration, meaning that Nashville and Weber couldn't come to terms and the contract was decided by a neutral third party.
If Nashville does match, they may also be forced to trade him. However, this is complicated by the fact that a player can't be traded for a year after the team matches his offer sheet, and that they would have to get a bigger return than four 1st rounders. There's also talk that Nashville was already working on a trade to ship out Weber, and the offer sheet is a result of the Flyers having grown tired of being strung along by the Preds.
Problem is, if they don't match the Predators will look very bad after losing their other big defenseman Ryan Suter to free agency and the Minnesota Wild only a couple of weeks ago. If they also lose Weber it will most definitely have repercussions athletically, and may also cause problems financially by losing the trust of their fans.
To make it short, there is a decent chance this offer sheet goes through, but it's a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation for the Preds.
As a Flyers fan, I think this is a good deal for the Flyers. Weber is definitely worth the four 1sts, and the contract is just what one would have to give in the open market. Maybe a bit more. Not really a problem. The Flyers can afford it, and can fit it under the cap, particularly if Kimmo Timonen retires next season.
What I don't like is that this could sow some bad blood between the Flyers and Predators. They've been very nice trade partners to each other for a while now, though I often joke that Flyers GM Paul Holmgren must have some dirty pictures on the people in the Predators front office. But maybe those help in this case too
So I was bored at work and it's the offseason. There's currently a number of jersey rankings going on, both NHL wide and in all of american sports, and since it's a topic I'm interested in I made a little tumblr blog project where I ranked all the jerseys in the NHL, sweater by sweater rather than team by team.

Let's go Kings, I guess.
Go Kings! Walk to your death, I mean Victory!
Trivia: See if you know this without Googling. Then Google.
What is on the bottom of the Stanley Cup? What used to be there?

Nice job Zagreb (who play in the same league as my home team, btw).
