  • I just got the DSi. I have to say...it's damn sexy. I need to delve into it a bit further, before I can make a complete opinion on this.
  • I pre-ordered it and I'm likely getting it after work today. I'm gonna keep it in the box for a week or so and monitor eBay prices to see if I should sell for a ridiculously high price or not.
If the ebay prices are under $250, I'll probably open it up sometime over my spring/easter break (april 10-17).

If you're looking, the Acekard 2i works on the DSi. Make sure not to get the normal 2 one.

I have mine and I am greatly enjoying it, but I can't get the online to work. I keep getting a 52100 error code...
Our experience has shown that this error message is typically caused by a basic setting in your router, such as transmission rate.
I really want to get it online so I can get the browser.
EDIT: Nevermind, I have it online now and it is awesome.

  • I really like the idea of the DSi, but I won't be getting one unless something happens to my DS Lite.
  • You can bet that when I have enough cash in my hands that I will buy one, even though (as I said earlier) I already have a DS Lite
  • I have neither a DS nor money for a DSi. XD

Ah, but do you have money to get a DS from people who are getting rid of theirs for DSis?

At the moment I have a small amount of money over my budget, so not really, $58 is not enough to get me a DS.
  • Played it today. It is very sexy, and AK2i's are only $20, but there's the possibility that the AK2i might be made obsolete by firmware changes...I dunno. I'm going to have to think a purchase over some more.
  • I'm not gonna dick around with DSi pirating until someone comes out with a way to run homebrew right off of a sd card, mini sd card, or micro sd card that's directly inserted into the DSi.
  • Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I just got off the phone with NOA, who wants $85 to fix my hinge-busted DS Lite, while new DS Lites go for $99 at Gamestop. So, I'm sure that I'm buying a new system, but I'm wondering if anyone has reason to seriously recommend a DSi over the DS Lite before I buy. Right now I'm getting the feeling the answer is no, I'd just like some input.

It's a toss up. Do you want access to DSiWare games, or do you want a GBA slot?

On a somewhat related note: The big DSiware title I'd like to try is Flipnote Studio. Looks kinda fun if you're an arty type.

GBA slot. I thought of this in the car, and realized that I'd be remiss to give up GBA awesomeness.
  • If you're big on GBA games, get yourself one of these (I'm assuming you're a flashcart user.).
  • Flipnote Studio is 100% awesome and free. I just hope some people make some real games for DSi Ware, because most of the stuff they've been putting out has been more like a large, overpriced mini-game than something that's actually worth some money.
  • ... to fix my hinge-busted DS Lite...
How hinge-busted is it? Is it beyond just getting an aftermarket case and fixing the sucker yourself?

Yeah, it was. a couple more openings and the top screen would have swung free.

If you're going to get a new one anyway, why not have a try putting a new case on? It is pretty complicated though. I'd recommend getting an official chassis, the third party ones tend to be a bit fragile.

    1)Already bought a new one.
2)My address changes in a few days, so it'd be difficult to order parts now. Plus, I got $50 credit for the defective unit I traded in, so it was worth it anyway.
