  • I'd rather be shot than stabbed, if I had to choose.
You have clearly not seen what 5.56mm NATO does to ballistic gell medium.
Well obviously it depends on the caliber just like it depends on the knife. I'm talking about if they were to be roughly equivalent wounds.
  • Last minute christmas shopping with parents is very frustrating, especially when everything they want to get could've been purchased a week ago on amazon.
  • BLK water is horrifyingly bad. It is terrible. Worse than terrible. Like, the worse thing. Also I worked today, so it barely feels like any sort of holiday at all. I also feel sad because I have a friend who I know has been having a really tough time this past year with a bunch of stuff and I want to wish her a really good holiday and also buy her some sort of unrequited gift that would hopefully make her feel a little better. However, because she is a woman who is attractive and is also single and I am a man who is married it would not be super appropriate to do that. Boo.

That's bullshit. Buy something for her anyway, and if anyone gives you crap tell them to fuck off. Gift giving and making people feel better shouldn't be restricted by gender and relationship status.

Agreed. Fuck the status quo, send presents.

Love it when 17- and 18-year-old girls interfere with my relationships to "keep me from getting hurt." How considerate of them to impart that fresh high school drama on my grown ass!

EDIT: A little clarification. I'm kind of seeing a 19-year-old girl. She's being mature and communicating with me a lot and it feels right, even if we're not particularly interested in anything serious. There's a lot of shit she needs to work out, but fortunately I'm pretty laid back and okay with people with issues like mine; we really click and we have a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, her age means she still has some lingering friends in high school or on a gap year that have some stupid drama complex about their friends seeing each other and do that passive-aggressive teen girl shit that makes me want to throw up my own heart. I have zero time for that.

Also, shout out to one of the girls in question for bringing that to my Christmas Eve dinner. Pretty childish.

  • What the ever loving actual fuck?
You know, when I read the link URL I though "This doesn't sound so bad, so why is this in the fail thread unless the bikers beat up the Phelps clan and now get their asses sued off by that professional Troll assembly, making them more powerful".

Then I read the actual article:

Bikers Turn Out to Protect Newtown Mourners from Left-Wing Westboro Cult

Bikers descended on the town of Newtown yesterday and linked arms blocking the hate group protesters of Westboro Baptist Church from disrupting the funerals. (Free Republic)

Conservative bikers turned out yesterday to protect Newtown mourners from Democrat Fred Phelps and his Westboro cult from protesting.
    The Cochrane Times reported:

Bikers seem to have thwarted attempts by the Westboro Baptist Church to protest the funeral of Newtown, Conn., shooting victim Principal Dawn Hochsprung.
    Yeah, what the fuck.
  • How the hell is that even allowed to exist in print anywhere outside the Onion?
  • When will we stop politicizing this kind of stuff?

  • Meh. The left pulls that shit on the right all the time. Them responding unkind isn't really worth noting.

    The first amendment?

So just because Phelps happens to be a democrat, and the bikers who wanted to protect the families from his hateful speech were conservatives, there's a political issue? How many conservative Christians are as bad or even worse than Phelps? Do you really think there's a political issue here?

I was talking more about the greater political issues related to the Newtown shootings themselves, rather than this specific incident.

Phelps having run for Democratic nominations has very little to do with anything. That said, his actions, and likely his motivations as well, are highly political in nature. His stance on homosexuality is absolutely a political matter. Moreover, despite what those two parties would have you believe, there is zero requirement for something to be about Democrats vs Republicans in order to be a political issue.

On the other hand, the biker group (I think this is their website) seems to be by no means explicitly conservative; their stated views are relatively apolitical.

    0. The WBC believes that Obama will make us eat our children because the food channel uses ample amounts of spices. Ain't no one crazier than that.

I will believe that there are crazier people when I am presented with crazier people. The only competition is timecube (the least coherent and most paranoid way to explain time zones), and that guy is an atheist.
  • Why didn't that article say the name of the group? How incredibly useless.

  • I forgot to turn in my tuition waiver. FFUUU
  • I'm slated to work security for a funeral at my church. It's a military funeral and WBC is in the area for the funerals of the arson/shooting in Webster. It looks like we are going to have a military presence and the Patriot riders will be there to handle things off of church property.

This could go wrong in a number of spectacular ways.

Oh dear, that's no good. Been there, and there sucks.
  • Virginia is anal about speeding pretty much everywhere except the 95 corridor. Seriously, DO NOT SPEED more than 3 mph in VA if you are not on 95!!! Even if you are on 95, don't go more than 10 over. Ride the slow lane if you have to.

  • Doesn't Virginia have a two tier ticketing system where people in state pay like 10x more fine or something like that.
  • I think that's internet urban legend.
