My mother is driving me crazy. Her response to news about my relationship is getting more serious (moving in together) is to give me advice for how to plan for when we break up. She got very defensive about it when I asked her nicely to stop.
When I finally realized that my mom was bipolar (at least) and was never going to seek treatment for it, I just cut her off completely. I've been MUCH happier since.

Shit man, that is high-test crazy.
Yup, she eventually did stop, but the whole family had to gang up on her on this issue.
Not quite that crazy, but she did insist we sleep in separate beds...which we ignored cause our too rooms were connected by a common bathroom. I don't think she's that level of crazy about us sharing a bed only because she refuses to acknowledge it's happening. :P
My parents weren't that crazy, but they did go through a phase where I had to sleep in a different bed or room than my girlfriend if we were visiting their house. They soon realized I'm an adult in adult relationships, and they just had to accept I'm gonna be shaggin'. It was quite sweet when they finally said it was okay, when visiting their home, for me to share a bed with someone I'd been living with for three years.
Ugh. The reason there isn't proper public transit to the South Bay is due to local governments not getting their shit together and extending BART. As you'll notice in most maps, there has been a proposed extension to the South Bay for the last 10ish years, and they haven't built it. That's why Google (and other companies) have started using shuttles.
Also, NOBODY IS FRACKING IN SAN FRANCISCO. Also, this lady OWNS AN APARTMENT in SF. Ugh. As much as I absolutely detest technophile Libertarians, Rich artists who don't understand the basics of city-scale economics really get my goat. Yeah, we need to figure out a way for American cities to not have skyrocketing housing prices, but I don't see her giving any ideas of what to actually do to solve this. It seems to me that this is an intractable problem with capitalism, and barring broad rent controls I don't know the answer (though I'm sure scores of actual economists are working hard on figuring it out).
EDIT: The reason these workers are living in SF (rather than the South Bay) is that the South Bay and San Jose in particular are extremely suburban, and lack much of the cultural development a true city can provide. San Jose, to their credit, is working on this, but their developments will probably take a decade or so to raise the status of the city.
It would seem my philosophy 205 class is about as lively as a graveyard. About five or six people (including myself) contribute to the discussion, the rest just kinda sit there looking bemused.

Is your mom on this level of irrational? http://www.ohjoysextoy.com/meettheparents/
This year is not off to a very auspicious start for me.
I should have just thrown it in the trash.

The fail is me facepalming that someone took at least 20 pages to spell this out.
Hope you find him.
