This one hits me surprisingly hard as celebrity deaths go. One because he was so young (talented & creative people dying too young is something that upsets me a lot), and two because the cause was so fucking random. But more importantly because I really felt happy whenever I saw he was in a movie. Like "Oh! Hey it's him! I like him. He doesn't do enough movies I feel like. Let's watch this!" Really liked him in the Star Trek reboots of course (even in the shitty second one), but especially liked his more off-beat genre movies like Fright Night and especially Green Room, which I saw last Halloween with a crowd full of horror fans and had a blast with. Even that romance movie he did, Like Crazy, I really enjoyed and liked him in. And he still had a bunch of things in the pipe going on, had so much more time ahead of him to keep honing his skills and building a long career.
Fuck. This is really goddamn unfair. 2016 can stop anytime now. Please?
Such a silly little mistake, too - by the sound of it, he jumped out the car to grab his mail, didn't set his handbrake properly, and the car rolled back on him. Silly little thing that could happen to anyone.
Bud Spencer, former Olympic swimmer and italian genre cinema actor. Many americans do not know him but here in europe, particularly in german speaking regions, he's a cult film icon due to his spaghetti western and other "brawl comedy" movies from the 1970s and early 1980s, most often together with his partner Terrence Hill. Though I believe a lot of it also has to do with the way the movies were dubbed for german-speaking markets, Spencer's film presence as a grumpy and imposing human being alongside his slick and wiry film-partner was what made those movies great (one of their movies is titled "Das Krokodil und sein Nilpferd" in german, the crocodile and his hippo).
Here's one segment with english dubbing I could find on YT.
Jack Chick. If only hell actually existed so he could burn in it. Just imagining that scene where he shows up and El Diablo is so thrilled the time has come. Would make a great short film. Like one minute long.

Thankfully, it seems this is likely fake.
