Desktop Screenshots: Fall 2009
Well, with September and fall being (somewhat) close by, I hereby dub thee "Desktop Thread".
I would much prefer posting a .PNG, but for some reason the colors fuck up. Maybe someone has experienced the same thing? For me, it always tints this kinda yellow-ish color, but slightly.
I'll post the .PNG too, and since I haven't tested it on any other machines, could you tell if the colors are different for you also or is it just a PC fuckup.
PNG:
I don't know what's up with it.

6/10.
Must have been a practical joke by a friend, although I guess it doesn't quite with a desktop like mine. Fail.
Hint: If you have excessive and/or useless icons all over your desktop, you're doing it wrong. You might say it's a lot of work to clean them up, and you would be correct. However, if you were doing it right, icons would never get on the desktop to be cleaned up. You have a My Documents folder and a Downloads Folder. Use them. Also, use something like launchy to start programs.
Still using Ubuntu and with the Gnome sidebar, so have my wallpaper instead.
Not much changed from the picture I posted back in March:
Edit: Can't find the resolution I'm using though. Will email to anyone who wants it.
@ Sonic
Awesome, Jason - could I have a link to that desktop?
@joe boomer and Lognator456 what's with the random icons everywhere?
Since 4scrape died what has everybody been using for good high resolution desktop searches?
I've been trying to find some high action Nissan GTR shots even though it's not a pretty car.
However the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione is a very pretty car -
On my monitor the jpeg shows a "colder" image and the png shows a "warmer" image, possibly the yellowish tint your speaking of. Did you save the snapshots in different programs, I know that when I view different projects in Photoshop, I get the option to view RGB in Windows, Mac or Monitor. Both the Windows and Mac RGB seem to have a yellowish tint with an increased gamma with the Mac however the monitor RGB option shows the image exactly as I see it (which is pretty obvious).
