  • Dude, turn Hotopia into comic. It's so epic, simple and fun!

Seriously man, get some $5 hosting and web publish that shit. I'd even help with merch if it got that far (I'd pay money for a t-shirt with the "Conquer this Shit" panel on it).

You're right Gunter, it's your comic, not mine. I was wrong to attempt to steal your thunder like that.
It's totally cool. I do feel like you deserve some thanks, though.
Not Hotopia, then; rather, your kingdom. Take all the credit for yourself! You know you want to.

It is a comic! I am just posting it here because it ties in on some level... and I don't really have anywhere else to put it. It might finally be time to get off my ass and buy some web hosting.

  • Brigadier-General Horatio Yupa's Log

    Gwyllis (April) 43rd

It's been many months since I last wrote in my log, due to the fact that I've been too busy with other things to write in it. I've had to quell at least 40 uprisings in Hadrian (20 of which I did alone). I have also explored the far reaches of the land I live in and have met many strange people and many different lands. But recently, I have become aware that the people I have been in contact with for many a month now are not anywhere in my land. They most likely they live in other lands beyond the ocean. Each time I had to ride out somewhere with my army, I have made a semi-concerted effort to find the whereabouts of the countries and locations these rulers live in, but to no avail. Recently, the Emperor has become interested in the prospect of mapping Gortch entirely, but I never saw the next decision he made coming from a mile away. He asked ME to lead a many-year voyage to sail beyond the continent of Yazbel and find new lands and new races/civilizations. To go where no mortal dared to tread! I don't know how long this voyage will take, but I am prepared to find as many lands as possible, not just because of the commands I have to obey, but because my wanderlust also drives me to do this even more so. The people I hope to make contact the most would be Praetor Axel and Mercenary Leader Churba, but who knows how long it will take?

I am writing this now from my absolutely luxurious and well-furnished captain's quarters. I have decided to chronicle every single aspect of this journey. I imagine it will span across several volumes, but it's worth it as this is a monumental task that has been placed upon my very shoulders. And so I sail off...to the New Lands of Gortch!!!!!!

What's with the double-posting? Is the message that important?

Yeah I know, I was messing around a little. Sorry if I didn't communicate that well enough.

Yeah, my ethernet cable popped out and I had to reload, which I supposed caused a double post.
  • What's with the double-posting? Is the message that important?
Says he, who double posts himself less than a minute span. Stop acting pathetic, Yupa, or Charles, or Jack. Seriously, crying and demanding to be specially thanked on a freaking image. That's very important isn't it?

Let's just go all the way, Günter, you should thank the universe for fucking existing. After all, apparently you wouldn't have made that comic if Yupa hadn't made this thread (I call bullshit), which wouldn't have been made if people hadn't started taking on 'titles', which wouldn't have started had I not changed my nick, who couldn't have changed his nick without the Vanilla forum software extension/option to change ones nick, which wouldn't have existed without the Vanilla forum software, which wouldn't have existed without its developers, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, who wouldn't have existed without their parents, [...], which wouldn't have existed were it not for the freak chance of suddenly life occuring, which wouldn't have happened had Earth not gotten trapped in an orbit around the sun at a certain distance as to allow for the freak chance of life suddenly appearing, which wouldn't have existed without the fucking universe. So thank the universe Günter, it's only fair. Get the fuck real Yupa and just enjoy the silly, you probably won't die in the next 24 hours so you still got your time to leave your mark on this rock.

    And hello to you to.

And why the heck did the big-headed hobo have a pistol but no bullets?! Ye crazy hobos!
  • BILE BILE BILE BILE BILE BILE BILE BILE.
He apologized, I added a thank you because I'm taking none of this seriously. Please, Nine, keep you fiery Dutch temper under control!

    Because it's hilarious!

  • First t-shirt right there.
  • Yupa owns the thread, so surely he owns the comic too.
  • OOC: Why does this forum always explode? I'm just now realizing that people's responses to me about religion weren't just them getting pissed at me. It seems to be a regular occurrence! RPing is fun, the comic is hilarious and fantastic. Why do we have to have all these endless arguments?
  • Because, for some of us, those are fun too.

@Gunter I'll pretty much reiterate what others have said, your comic is most excellent. Even though the art is mainly stick figure, the content/dialogue makes up for it, but at the same time it still works very well. It's pretty much the only reason why I keep checking back up on this thread. Keep it up, I look forward to seeing new stuff from you.

Don't forget, you need to thank my cats too. Just because they are so awesome. ^_~

OOC: We argued a little bit about a 10th grade English assignment.

We like to argue 'round these parts.
  • OOC: Perhaps another thread should be created to house all this banter, and keep the actual RP thread for RP?

    I concur.
  • Or just let this thread be banter and confine the RP to the Wave.

I think Sail's suggestion is a sound one, and as such I will use it. Let's keep the banter going for a while and when Wave is released, I'll post a notification showing the link to the Wave where it will continue. When that does happen, I would prefer that the thread be closed since it would lose it's purpose.
  • Or you could just change the title of the thread to "Extraneous RP Banter" or something.

The problem with that, is that no one else outside of the people who'll follow me to the Wave will know of it's existence. I do want more and more people to gradually join as time goes on. As much as that would amuse me, the notification would be lost amongst the sea of banter.

  • I guess I'll just put this here. That website is forthcoming, hopefully.

Funny -- but I have some issues with the reading order. The way you have it organized into blocks like that is really ambiguous -- After the first panel, I had to read the dialgo both across and down before I was sure which way I was supposed to go. You can use varying gutter widths to give clues which way to go. Your gutter between the first and second panel is wider than the gutter between the first and second tier -- that's what's making it ambiguous. You could try doing it this way. Also, it's especially weird to read those two separate blocks together on one tier. I would probably just lay them out so they read straight across, like so.
  • Both links seem to be broken.
