Servers still seem down. Still having trouble getting it working on my laptop. I think it's something to do with the Intel graphics.. but I'm not sure if it's just my card..
Is there a solution to the problem that plagues me and Axel?
You could try reading the news posts. Or my post in the TotD thread (I think). Intel graphics cards are a no go. Same goes for some old ATI cards. Heck, even Omnutia already mentioned it in this thread.
I'll repeat:
INTEL GRAPHICS CARDS ARE A NO GO
I really, really wanted to play this game....fuck it all.
Argh. I'm still not. What server are you on, Ro? Server One?
Yeah, I just attempted to change servers and clicked on Server One, but it said I was already a part of it, and then I clicked Play. Then the downloaded started.
I didn't know this was in first person mode. This will take some adjusting. @_@
Oh mans, I'm in. I re-downloaded, but I think it was just the same file. So I think maybe just wiping the config and having to re-login is what did it. What settlement should I join? Does that matter? Is there an FRC settlement?
I just applied for a key, but for some reason my paypal had my old e-mail address since I never use it, which means I didn't get the e-mail with the Key. FML. I changed my paypal e-mail to the right one, but I still haven't gotten anything. This sucks.
Ushaa! Omnu-tan no cho-bennri LOVE kyoukasho! [Right! Omnuita's very convenient LOVE textbook!]
BIG TIP! Press F10 to toggle tool-tips.
First don't die: To do so: 1) Keep out of the water. 2) Avoid AI populated areas, unless going in groups. Some have grenade launchers. 3) Go up to checkpoints and click on them.
Secondly: Move across the terrain: 1) Jump is very generous. 2) You can jump up onto some ledges even if your view doesn't go over the top. Takes some trying. 3) If you get stuck, go to the menu [Esc or Middle Click.] and click the checkpoint button (Curvy, dotty one that points in the direction of the checkpoint when you use the checkpoint.) and you'll go back to the checkpoint.
Thirdly: Find your settlement: 1) If there's been a "Settlement to Join" message and a compass thing, head towards it. 2) Some people put them in stupid locations. Some people put them in glitch locations. 3) Once you get there, click on your central monolith while standing next to it, this will add a second compass that will let you warp back to base at any time. Use it like the checkpoint compass.
Ok, you now have joined a base. Now to explain your inventory: Four slots on the right, these are your weapons, you change them by going to a dispenser monolith and selecting which slot you want them to go into (Pressing 1-4). I'll talk about what each one does later, I recommend you get the radio as, as long as you're holding it out (If you're holding the gun, you can't hear the radio.) you can talk with people on the same frequency all the way across the map.
Once you have a base, you can finally pick up those tokens. Tokens let you make buildings, buildings let you make stuff (Turrets, Grenade Launchers, Windmills, etc..). Tokens go in your token slots (Not your weapon slots.) but can be selected like weapons, using F1-F4 instead of 1-4. You place them near your central monolith.
Most buildings you get at the begining dispense stuff that goes in your weapons slots, these are mostly tools and weapons. With these you can make the earth, shoot stuff and build things. Doing most things (Except the Radio, Binoculars and Config tool.) need energy to work. You start with 100 and will auto regenerate to 25. You can get more by manufacturing it (More on that Later.), picking it up off dead things or just teleporting back to a checkpoint or base. The former two will let you go over 100 energy whereas the teleport will reset you to exactly 100.
You'll probably want to piss around making cool looking buildings and getting your stuff built up. Next I'll be talking all of the fun of coordinates and making the extra power you need to build stuff with a cost of more than 100!
Isn't the whole point of the game supposed to be not attacking players and attacking the AI only?
You can have player division if someone builds a second settlement. I think you can also do a lot more than just shoot people. Like set a valley of explosives and laser turrets then set them off via radio with great effect.
This looks really good. Pity I'm only at home for another 10 days between now and January, or else I'd give this a go. When I'm on the road, with just my macbook, the only game I bother with is Wesnoth. I guess when I have time again next year I'll have Love and NS2 waiting for me.

[Ahh.. spinning panda is no good.. such a shame!]
I'm still stuck with the Update error.
Still no log-in.
Man, I have no idea how to play this game.
Oh buggerizationalism! I think they broke WINE compatibility.
BTW, don't fall in the water. I've died several times already from falling in there.
