  • One thing people, no mention of video games here. We already have a thread that serves that purpose. Talk about stuff you are doing that doesn't involve computer programs (writing software is excluded from this though) or video games.
  • I'm programming a video game.
  • Been playing a Lot of Far Cry 2. Tending the horses on a local farm, on occasion, along with cooking and drinking a lot.
  • Learning Python in an effort to begin programming a simulator. Also, Europa Universalis 3 and Dwarf Fortress, like a lot.

Attempting to blog. In order to stop myself taking so long, once I put a full stop on a sentence, I can't go back to change it unless there is a spelling or content error.

    Oh, and walking, much walking.

Let me reword that. One thing people, no mention of playing video games here. We already have a thread that serves that purpose. Talk about any other kind of hobby that does not in any way or form involve playing a video game. Writing software or actually making a video game does not fall under that criteria as that is a hobby and takes work to do. Playing a video game (at least my definition of such) is just an activity that pisses away time.

True but I'll just walk away and respectfully decline any duel or fight you challenge me to. The question remains though, are you on the same page I am by what I said?

Geofino, you are being a little bit overzealous. Let me tell you something, You are not a moderator. It is not your job to enforce rules on the Fora or any threads therein. Doing such is not only in bad form, it is frowned upon by the actual moderators.

Walmart had Rock Band drums on sale for $9.96 today. That's not a typo. So it was finally worth the investment to add drums to the guitars.

Also, I think I already mentioned the blogging I've been doing for Simply Syndicated. Bad movies have an oddly magnetic pull for me, so I've been indulging on Netflix online and watching some truly horrible ones, then posting about them.

Other than that, picking out baby names and holding back hair while a certain spouse vomits take a surprising amount of time. Hunting down certain foods at odd hours is also becoming a norm.

Let me reword that. One thing people, no mention of WATCHING anime here. We already have a thread that serves that purpose. Talk about any other kind of hobby that does not in any way or form involve watching anime. Drawing pictures or actually making an animated film does not fall under that criteria as that is a hobby and takes work to do. You are annoying. Everything you do here has a sheen of fake elitism and condescending bullshit. You try too hard to get people to like you and it bothers me. You get on here and tell me that something I enjoy to do just pisses away time; well no shit numbnuts. That's why I do it in my SPARE time. And furthermore you are telling me what I can or cannot discuss in the flow of a general conversation. I generally don't get angry, but you make me fucking RAGE.

Get the hell off my internets. Go ahead an apologize like you usually do. It just confirms my dominance as the alpha male.

Should I learn Python, C++, or Java first?

  • Python. Use this book.
  • Playing a video game (at least my definition of such) is just an activity that pisses away time.
Hobbies are activities that we invented in order to waste spare time.
  • The thread title is "What are you currently doing in your spare time?" not "What are you hobbies - CREATIVE THINGS ONLY."
  • I think I'll start out with some Pascall after carefully considering which ones I should try.
  • Also, I think I already mentioned the blogging I've been doing for Simply Syndicated. Bad movies have an oddly magnetic pull for me, so I've been indulging on Netflix online and watching some truly horrible ones, then posting about them.
I will have to subscribe to this now.

It would be cool if you did stuff on movies from the 80's/90's that aren't as known, but somehow you can't help but enjoy. Just a suggestion. You should see my streaming Netflix queue. Here are a few that I can't help but watch over and over again:

    ~Loverboy
    ~Just One of the Guys
    ~Mannequin
    ~Career Opportunities

Yeah, they aren't the greatest of movies, but I grew up watching them. I always enjoy re-watching them.
  • - Watching The Venture Bros.
-Working on one of my basses

that's pretty much it right now
  • Not much to add onto my previous list, though a couple things have been completed since then. So just a short list.

    1) Playing games (duh)
    2) Watching stuff (duh deux)
    3) Getting back into working out everyday
    4) Learning to play guitar
    5) Taking drumming lessons
    6) Getting my life more organized and making it more efficient
  • Since December 26th, I've been engaged in a very grueling project that I've putting as much resources into as possible. I've been working long into the night and usually going to bed around 4 in the morning because I've worked so hard. I'm actually writing my very first serious business screenplay. The screenplay itself is an adaptation of a game that is story and dialogue heavy. I'll give you guys a hint although I'm hoping one of you could guess it without the use the Internet to find the answer. It's a story that involves snatching and cyberpunk.
  • Is it... Snatcher?
  • snatching and cyberpunk
Kevin Flynn, a young and gifted programmer, is pulled into trouble when he becomes involved in big time criminal Master Control Program, who wants him to arrange a light-bike race and fix it. Meanwhile, a Program theft goes down but the 84 mb Program goes missing. This leads Sark, the boss who was supposed to receive the program, to come to the Encom Mainframe to search for it, with the help of his cousin, RAM and a virtual tank. As events twist and turn, the two situations blend into one with a chain reaction of events carrying on for each and every character?

Ding-ding-ding-ding!! We have a winner. I've done tons of straight-forward scripts before, but the Shirowtasm in this presents an interesting challenge.

Progress: Still in Prologue scene on Highway before Act I officially begins.

Sorry, but you'll be taking our consolation prize home. The Geeknights Board Game now with 25 speech clips as you play.

If any of you haven't played Snatcher on the Sega CD yet, I highly recommend that you do so as it's the best that the Sega CD ever has to offer. There is a quite a bit of Shirowtasm (as I've stated above) but it's still good, just like Ghost in the Shell (Shirowtastic but still exceptional). Combine Blade Runner with The Terminator (1st one specifically), and you've got Snatcher.
