If Stick of Truth gets voted for community choice, I might buy it. Even though it's $40, I will live stream the whole thing to make it worthwhile. Also I just need some South Park to hold me over until it comes back. They usually do March/April episodes, but not this year for some reason.
Also I like their idea of voting for packs of games instead of just one. Since a lot of the time all three choices suck and I just vote for the cards to sell.
Pac-man is tempting. XCom is also tempting but I know it will suck me in and I don't know if I've got the time for that. I think I will escape this day unscathed, as I'd jump on Don't Starve and Hotline Miami but I have them both.
Dead Rising 3 is not even out yet and it's on the front page?! I wonder if the game is shit and they're trying to get their money now.
You should just not buy games at all if you really want to go through a catalog like that. I generally play games until I get bored of them or beat them. Most of the games that I pay full price on I play through to completion. Games I know I'll probably play for a couple hours I'll wait until they're $5. If I just have too much to play I just don't buy any games at all. If I get even an hour of interest out of a game I paid $5 for I'm fairly satisfied with that.
Summer Sale cards are now at 50-60 cents each! Marketplace is setup like a commodities market.
There's no better feeling than putting a card up for a penny below last sale and having it sell immediately.
Before the sale started people had them listed for ten cents... Mad money could have been made...
IF you have spare cards, now's the time to sell them, too - since you only need to contribute points, not a large number of points, people are crafting badges like CRAZY, so just about everything is selling pretty quick.
Also, kind of a clever idea - with this many people crafting badges, a lot of cards are both moving and going out of circulation, which means that valve is making money on the moves, and stands to make more money as the supply of cards just hanging around drops a bit, forcing price rises. Sure, it's only a couple of cents rise, but over thousands and thousands of trades per hour, that's no small amount of cash.

The thing is, you think Valve gets a tiny bit of each transaction, but they don't. If I sell you a card for 10 cents, Valve gets ten cents. You sell it again for 11 cents, they get 11 cents. Nobody ever cashes out. They just use the money to get games. It's really just store credit. People who care about the cards are giving money to the store, and only merchandise comes out of the store.
They eventually pay out when you use the credit on a title. The important point is it's not YOUR 11 cents that goes for store credit when you sell a digital good that you spent little-to-no effort in obtaining and selling.
