Why is driving without AC a problem in low humidity? Roll down the windows.
I don't think you get my definition of low humidity. Low humidity for Houston is still above 50%. Low humidity means when you go outside it doesn't feel like you're being wrapped in a preheated blanket. Also freeway driving make driving with windows down suck. That and the level of humidity often here means the fans keep you just shy of overheating as they just circulate warm air.
Austin beat it's heat record with 22 consecutive 100-degree days. Heat record
Damn. That's a lot of hot days. I think Dallas stopped just short of breaking their record which was also around a fortnight. Have they started mandatory water conservation rules yet in Austin? I know Houston is getting close.
Speaking as someone who works for eight hours in proximity to a trio of huge ovens named Apollo, Zeus, and Hades, I beg to differ. Bring on the Winter!
Last weekend I managed to get caught in the same storm three times in three different states. I was on vacation in North Carolina when we were caught in a severe lightning storm on Sunday night. Then, while stopped over at the airport in Baltimore on the way home the next morning, my flight was delayed due to the same storm. Finally when I got home to New England, the storm caught up to me while running post-vacation errands. The storm clearly followed me up the coast just to inconvenience me at every turn.
Past few days have been sitting comfortably in the low 60s(16ish if you're metric). Today's forecast? Low 80s(27ish). Where the hell did this come from?
I went outside to the museum today to study the greek pottery for a project I'm working on. It was raining. After about an hour of museum-ing, I looked out the museum window and saw fucking snow. Shoes, socks, 100% soaked. Cold. Woman. Space. Motherfuckers!
Finally got home. Starting to warm up. Still snowing.
Anywhere from one to six inches predicted for tomorrow here in Boston, though for now we've just had rain. So much for plans to go show the beach to the Mongolian... just pretend that made sense.
You get one or the other. If you complain about it being cold in the winter, and then you immediately move on to complaining about it being hot in the summer, you are a moron. ;^)
I complain about uncomfortable weather. For me, that's above 25C and below -10C. (Or above 35C in less horribly muggy environs).

Last night, outisde, at 2AM, I took my sweater off because it was TOO GODDAMN WARM. (<-- slight exaggeration).
In other news, NYC is delightfully brisk today.
