Someone seriously needs to make a House of Cards/Red Dawn mash-up. I want to see Francis Underwood yelling "Wolverines!" while fighting off Soviet troops.
Archer is not a good enough show to pirate or sit through commercials for, but apparently it's a good enough show that I'll marathon it when it becomes available to me.
Anyone else catch the premier of "True Detective"?
The show had a great opener. If they can keep this level of dry comedy, weird stuff and multilayered story throughout, the program will be great. It is one of the few dramas which has really grabbed me with a first episode.
Incidentally, I've been watching this show as well; I started it based on your recommendation.

It's pretty damn good.
That's great, I hope more people watch it. I don't know how they are going to top this first season.
Started watching House of Cards. Seems for me that I'll be able to follow and understand it, even without having any real understanding of how US politics and government works, besides of some basic stuff.
A challenge for me is to keep all those balding middle aged men in suits in order. I have horrible memory for faces, names and people and when I have to differentiate between characters by the position of their hairline, it's not easy. But I think it's a problem that time will solve for me as I get used to the characters.

I've been marathoning through 30 Rock pretty well. It has such a solid cast with Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Alec Baldwin, and Jack McBrayer. I just finishing up with the 3rd Season, and can't wait to get into the 4th. It's really easy watching, but it is so clever when it comes to covering Network Comedy and a New York Atmosphere. You just can't help but appreciate everyone in that cast.

I marathoned the entire series twice last year. It's so incredibly funny no matter how many times you see it.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. hit another one out of the park with this weeks eps. The show has been getting darker and darker ever since the line "let me die" was uttered in some major spoiler way. Definitely worth watching. If only they had figured out the pacing of the last bunch of eps at the beginning the show would be doing a lot better.
So, I've been watching "Border Security: Canada's Front Line" and I've been pretty shocked at how often they search people's phones and laptops. I think many people (including the EFF) would agree this is a breach of the right to privacy. What do you guys think?
I found this document which goes into more detail on the practice. It claims people are not required to provide passwords for their devices, but that contradicts something I saw in the show. Also, I found this hilarious quote.
You are more likely to be chosen to have your devices searched if you: • Are importing something the CBSA deems to be suspicious.24 This could include anime and manga, which the CBSA is highly suspicious of. The CBSA has reminded its officers that “most [anime and manga is] not child porn”.25
Here is the clip I mentioned where the man is forced to provide his password to border officials and the section of the document from the BC Civil Liberties Association that says it is not required.
If I could mainline Vikings, I would. Other than that, Mad Men, GoT, Call the Midwife, and The Bletchley Circle . Sometimes I catch CBS Sunday Morning and CBS Face the Nation.
Here's a tough social justice dilemma to grapple with:
Saturday Night Live caught a shit-ton of flack earlier this year when they hired a bunch of new cast members, but continued to operate without a black female. They eventually recognized the concerns and made a rare mid-season cast addition. Awesome!
Here's the shitty part: she is by far the weakest cast member on the show. The drama also took a ton of focus away from what I thought was a really great story: SNL right now has a group of 5 women performers who mop the floor with their male counterparts. I don't know if they've ever had such a talented cast on the female side. They're all downright amazing at what they do, and I thought they'd be getting a ton of praise in the media this season, but instead they got a 6th female who brings the average way down.

It is pretty awesome.
You're too young to understand.Ermmmm. It's only the best comedy on TV in many intelligent sapients' opinions. It's pretty damn good.

A few things left hanging for season 3:
The will the hacker guy come into play?
"Can you explain this manga?"
"Officer, I don't think anyone can explain this manga."
"Right, off to goal."
