I also just noticed that before you posted. I was looking at my page to make sure I didn't accidentally retweet. Why couldn't I achieve this number two days ago when it was appropriate?

Wait, so only the rich have miniguns?

Quick, nobody tell the occupy movement, I want to see how this pans out.

As a side note, they seem to have taken the same path that Brisbane Occupy was on from the start -

And this is the OFFICIAL Occupy movement page, not just some whack-job imitators. Though they seem to be doing competent imitations of whack-jobs.

  • See, and my mom wonders why I don't get more on-board with Occupy Wall Street. Seriously, mom, they were a few blocks away from my work, and I got to see all the crazy. I think you thought it was more "Oh you can't scare me I'm stickin' with the Union!" solidarity and less Ron Paul conspiracy crud.
  • Yo, Ron doesn't believe in conspiracy bullshit. He doesn't know a damn thing about economics, but he knows two things:
    1. We spend too much on the military
    2. The government isn't conspiring to fuck over the people; they do it by accident.
and at this point, that's more than I can expect from a politician.

Well true, I can't afford one but they're not THAT expensive. You can build a pretty nice one for under $1000. Really you just need a few semi-automatic rifles and a hand-crank mount that fires them. Now its not exactly practical, but for those who are into that sort of thing it wouldn't be too bad. Especially if you just used some .22s since that ammo is cheap as shit.
  • Just build .22 assemblies from plumbing parts and surplus Soviet actions. Piece of piss.
  • MacGuyvered SKS/AK minigun? Sounds like an enriching summer project to me.

Yo, Ron doesn't believe in conspiracy bullshit
I don't know which political Candidate named Ron you're talking about, but Ron Paul most certainly does believe in conspiracy theories. He's rarely met one he didn't like, it seems.

"[Is there] an international conspiracy to overthrow our government? The answer is 'Yes'. I think there are 25,000 individuals that have used offices of powers, and they are in our Universities and they are in our Congresses, and they believe in One World Government. And if you believe in One World Government, then you are talking about undermining National Sovereignty and you are talking about setting up something that you could well call a dictatorship - and those plans are there!"

"NAFTA’s superhighway is just one part of a plan to erase the borders between the U.S. and Mexico, called the North American Union. This spawn of powerful special interests, would create a single nation out of Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, with a new unelected bureaucracy and money system. Forget about controlling immigration under this scheme.”

Here he is in a John Birch society video talking about how they're going to eliminate the constitution, take away everyone's guns, and essentially turn you all into slaves. Who is behind this? The UN, of course:

On how the CIA actually run the US government, Millitary, Drug trade:

"I never automatically trust anything the government does when they do an investigation because too often I think there's an area that the government covered up, whether it's the Kennedy assassination or whatever."

He thinks to this day that the Watergate scandal is the doings of the Federal Reserve.

He thinks global warming is a conspiracy, along with supporting and regularly appearing on Alex Jones.

He's a truther, and thinks the federal reserve is likely in part behind it:

More New World Order carry-on -

And this isn't even covering the crazy shit he talked in his newsletters, the Ron Paul (survival/financial/political/other adjective) report, or any of his books, which are not quite as openly racist/sexist/insane, but have some real gems.

Face it, man, the dude is a fuckin' nutcase.

  • Face it, man, the dude is a fuckin' nutcase.
That's not actually that insane. What he says regarding 9/11 is just a standard question dodge. He doesn't actually come out one way or the other, because he doesn't want to lose either vote. There are a lot of people who want a world government because they think that eliminating country borders would end wars (a rather naiive notion, if you ask me) and the idea that they are collaborating doesn't leave the realm of reason too much. The fear of international organizations isn't nearly as unbased in reality as it ought to be -- you'll oft hear me talk about how the EU is a German plot to unite Europe, which isn't necessarily bad. And the UN doesn't want us to have the right to bear arms -- a right that at the time of writing US citizens do not possess because the second amendment allows for state governments to possess weapons not individuals.

In short, I'm not sure that he's wrong, just that he's more afraid than he should be.

There is a difference between reasonable caution of Foreign agencies and thinking they're the NWO coming to take over the US. Or that they already do run it. Or that the CIA runs it.

If the answer "Because I'd catch too much heat" when asked by a truther why he doesn't reveal the "Truth" about 9/11 is a standard question dodge, I'll eat my goddamn hat.

Don't try that "There are a lot of people who want a world government" bollocks, that doesn't explain away that he directly said there is an international conspiracy to overthrow the US. Or when he's said things like how bush was working towards the NWO. Not to mention how a former aide of his(who worked with the man for 15 years) stated that he “engaged in conspiracy theories including perhaps the attacks were coordinated with the CIA” and “expressed no sympathies whatsoever for those who died on 9/11.” Or how he's been recorded talking about how the Bilderberger group controls all the world's banking systems and natural resources.

Or how he said when questioned about who pulls the strings in the US and really runs the government -

"You referred to who really pulls the strings. For years now, it's been claimed by many, and there's pretty good evidence, that those who are involved in the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations usually end up in positions of power. And I believe this is true. If you look at the Federal Reserve, if you look at key positions at the World Bank or the IMF, they all come from these groups. If you have national television on, you might see a big debate about the Far East crisis, and you have Brzezinski and Kissinger talking about how to do it. One says don't invade today, invade tomorrow. And the other says, invade immediately. That's the only difference you find between the Rockefeller trilateralists,"

Also, none of this explains why he thinks the Fed was involved in Watergate, or anything else, especially the content of his newsletters, which was full to the brim with vitriol, conspiracy theories, racism, sexism, homophobia(Aids, apparently, is a gay conspiracy, and they're all just trying to infect as many people as possible, and the government is in on it, in some kind of federal-homosexual cover-up) anti-semitisim and other such nonsense. Just a sample of the more tame statements include that he revealed a "plot for world government, world money and world central banking"(spoiler - It's bullshit) and a plan by FEMA to suspend the constitution with falsely declared national emergencies, with an eye towards rounding people up. And that the US government is tracking everyone through the paper money.

I get where you're coming from, here, but seriously, we've got something that looks, smells, quacks, walks, and swims like a duck, I think it's pretty safe to say we've got a duck on our hands, here.

  • @Churba: I don't understand where you're getting the sexism from. Racism I've heard about (and honestly, given the economic bullshit I put up with for his military policy, lesser forms of racism are something I'll put up with) but sexism I haven't heard. Also, I want a source on the AIDS claim.

Also, I want a source on the AIDS claim.
Let's get this first, since it's the easiest.

Ron Paul Survival Report, 1994, September. “Those who don’t commit sodomy, who don’t get blood a transfusion, and who don’t swap needles, are virtually assured of not getting AIDS unless they are deliberately infected by a malicious gay.”

    January edition, same year. image

March, 1987, Ron Paul Investment Letter. Headline - “AIDS – the Government Lies Again” followed by a screed asserting “AIDS can be transmitted through means other than sexual intercourse and blood transfusion, specifically saliva, tears, sweat, feces and urine” and on the next page, where it continues, that people with AIDS are "Shedding the virus from every orifice", don't accept blood transfusions because it might be tainted by malicious gays, 85% of gay men in San Francisco have AIDS or show antibodies for it, and calling for any sort of assistance for people with AIDS.

November, 1987, Ron Paul Political report, which tells us that "AIDS carriers should be banned from schools"

Ron Paul Survival Report, March, 1994: You don't need my commentary here, I'll simply let it speak for itself.

"Gee, if sodomy doesn't cause AIDS, what does? "Gay sex doesn't spread AIDS. Slick Willie's lies do!" screamed Turner[He's referring to Wayne Turner, Co-founder of Act-up -ed], And his reaction points to what I've long suspected is part of the purpose of "AIDS education": to keep the truth about AIDS from getting out. And this goes way back. Scientists originally named it GRIDS--Gay Related Immune Deficiency Syndrome until the homosexual lobby succeeded in getting the origins of the disease disguised."

January, 1988, Ron Paul Political report: The government invented Aids!
@Churba: I don't understand where you're getting the sexism from. Racism I've heard about (and honestly, given the economic bullshit I put up with for his military policy, lesser forms of racism are something I'll put up with) but sexism I haven't heard.
Along with being anti-reproductive rights and anti-abortion, and there are other screeds, like in his book "Freedom Under Siege: The U.S. Constitution after 200-Plus Years", where he has a nice little diatribe about how essentially, sexual harassment is the victim's fault, and they shouldn't go running to the government, they should just quit and get another job.

Now, I have to address something. Lesser forms of racism? Lesser fucking forms of racisim? Old Ronnie never does anything by halves, man, you should know that by now. Let's have another round of Choice Quotes. I won't bother commenting, I'll again let Ron speak for himself.

Ron Paul Survival report, October, 1992, a fun guide on how to gun down "Urban youths."

"If you live in a major city, you've probably heard about the newest threat to your life and limb, and your family: carjacking.

It's the hip-hop thing to do among the urban youth who play unsuspecting whites like pianos. The youth simply walk up to a car they like, pull a gun, tell the family to get out, steal their jewelry and wallets, and take the car to wreck. Such actions have ballooned in recent months.
    […]
What can you do? More and more Americans are carrying a gun in the car. An ex-cop I know advises that if you have to use a gun on a youth, you should leave the scene immediately, disposing of the wiped off gun as soon as possible. Such a gun cannot, of course, be registered to you, but one bought privately (through the classifieds, for example.)"

Ron Paul political report, October, 1990.
"A mob of black demonstrators, led by the 'Rev.' Al Sharpton, occupied and closed the Statue of Liberty recently, demanding that New York be renamed Martin Luther King City 'to reclaim it for our people.'

Hmmm. I hate to agree with the Rev. Al, but maybe a name change is in order. Welfaria? Zooville? Rapetown? Dirtburg? Lazyopolis?

But Al, the Statue of Liberty? Next time, hold that demonstration at a food stamp bureau or a crack house."

June, 1992, Ron Paul political newsletter.

"Order was only restored in LA when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks three days after rioting began…What if the checks had never arrived? No doubt the blacks would have fully privatized the welfare state through continued looting. But they were paid off and the violence subsided."

    Also from 1992:

“We don’t think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23, That’s true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary, and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such.”

Oh, and it then goes on to say that "Sophisticated crimes" such as “complex embezzling” are conducted exclusively by non-blacks: “What else do we need to know about the political establishment than that it refuses to discuss the crimes that terrify Americans on grounds that doing so is racist? Why isn’t that true of complex embezzling, which is 100 percent white and Asian?”

Oh, and here's the solicitation for the Ron Paul Survival report. A sample, just for conspiracy lols -
"I've been told not to talk, but these stooges don't scare me. Threats or no threats, I've laid bare the coming race war in our big cities. The federal-homosexual cover-up on AIDS (my thinking as a physician helps me see through this one.) The Bohemian Grove—perverted, pagan playground of the powerful. Skull & Bones: the demonic fraternity that includes George Bush and leftist Senator John Kerry, Congress's Mr. New Money. The Israeli lobby, which plays Congress like a cheap harmonica. And the Soviet-style 'smartcard' the Justice Department has in mind for you."

If you think that's Lesser Racism, you need your bloody head read, mate. There is a reason one of his biggest supporter groups is Stormfront and their happy little neo-nazi friends.

According to Biblebelievers.org circa 2009 (they"ve since taken this down) it was Hitler's plan to finish the Final Solution from beyond the grave.

EDIT: shit, Ninja'd by a very relevant post.

I am indeed quite lovable and huggable. Says so on my business cards.
  • That is lesser racism. On Greg TvH's Scale of Racism, you have to be at least a neo-confederate before it's worth worrying about.
  • I personally tend to rule out candidates on pretty much any level of racism above background raciation. And all things considering, that's a pretty low bar.
  • Candidates you can vote for if you have a zero racism tolerance off the top of my head (if Millard Fillmore was a staunch abolitionist, forgive me) only from major parties (Dem, Rep, Dem-Rep, and Whig) and having lived through fewer elections than most of you in reverse chronological order:
    -- Barack Obama
    -- Richard Nixon
    -- Eugene McCarthy
    -- Abraham Lincoln

Yeah, that's pretty much what Ron is. He pays a lot of lip-service to libertarian ideals, but he's about as libertarian as George Bush, when you get down to brass tacks.
  • He's not bad in the same ways as Bush. Bush installed a police state. I would compare him to Colin Powell; he as good intentions, but he's not the brightest bulb, and he has a certain pride that gets in the way.
