Indeed it is. Here's an earlier post on food options. Barlow's is the only restaurant week participant in walking distance to BCEC. Also, IGN is holding a meetup there at 6PM on Saturday, so expect it to be crowded on that night.
I'll have Bananagrams, Valkyria Chronicles 2, and Advance Wars.
Will anyone be bringing the new Pokemon game? I'm sort of on the borderline on bringing it, but I think having a bunch of people to play with, even for a short while, might make it worthwhile.
Is the new Pokemon worth getting? The last one I played was Diamond and enjoyed it... but I'm afraid it'll just be the same game over again.
Apparently there is a hotel situation. The Westin overbooked. They expected there to be more PAX cancellations than there actually were. As a result, they are moving people to another hotel that is 3 miles away, but supposedly swanky. They are also supposedly giving free hotel nights to people who willingly move to the other hotel. Also, there is supposedly a shuttle from the overflow hotel that runs until 3AM.
Had the thought today to go on Board Game Geek and download rules refreshers & FAQ pdfs for all of my favorite board games, and load them into iBooks on my iPhone. I don't want to be caught sitting at a table and become the default rules explainer since I've played a game before, only to fuck it up for everyone. Also, it's always good to go back and re-read some of this stuff. Every now and then I'll go to an event and realize that my friends and I have been playing a game ever so slightly wrong for the longest time. This just happened recently with the exchanging card action in Pandemic. We thought it was only a 1-way action.
I also may grab a few rule books from games I've always wanted to try, and read through them on the train so I'll have an easier time jumping in.
I'm getting seriously worried about con flu now. PAX is supposed to be somewhat better than other cons about the cleanliness, but sleep deprivation over the past few days has probably totally wrecked my immune system. Do you have any good advice for not dying?
Also, we're getting down to the 36-hour mark, and I am supremely excited.
If you're really worried about body being run down already, adopt 100% no handshake policy, and wash your hands constantly (with soap and water, NOT hand sanitizer!). Germs entering through various places you may touch on your face are your biggest risk. Other than that, you either get it or you don't, but at least you gave it your best shot.
I have to admit I'm kinda nervous about going to PAX. Not just because it's my first gaming con ever, but...I don't know. I'm really only a board gamer and am a newbie to that scene.

There's actually no PAX. It's a trap.
Also, didn't know you were going. I'll add you to the Beluga.

I knew you guys were gonna get your vengeance someday!
Ahhh Omegathon. It was so lame that I had to miss that last year. 2 of the 4 guys wussed out and bitched about needing to leave by 3PM so they could be awake for work on Monday. The "boo-yah" of the story is that I am still coming with three friends this year, but those two were intentionally not reminded to buy their passes.

If you need to be reminded that PAX exists, you don't deserve to be there.
Exactly my point. They spent half of last PAX East not at PAX. One of the guys actually mentioned he still would have come this year if he remembered about it! I say let someone else have the pass.
Do you habitually touch your face? Stop it. (I do this, and it's terrible. Make-up and lip balm are good for reminding me not to, so I often wear make-up at cons.)
Walk behind people and follow them through open doors. When you have to open doors, if at all possible use your arms or body instead of your hands. Do not hold onto railings unless you need to. Don't handle things that a bajillion other people have obviously handled recently if you can help it.
Wash your hands A LOT. You should be drinking lots of water and/or replenishing drink of your choice (NOT super-caffeinated liquids), so frequent bathroom breaks should be happening anyway. Be extra thorough when you wash up afterward. Wash your hands before you eat.
Get enough to eat and enough sleep. Sleeping thoroughly and keeping your body properly fueled goes a hell of a long way toward keeping you from dying (or feeling like total shit) at the end of the con. In the same vein, I know people talk a lot about getting drunk here, but don't. Really don't. Draw the line at pleasantly buzzed and continue to enjoy your con experience.
I'm so freaking excited about this! I'm bringing my partner (who is more of a casual Gamer), so I'm not sure what their reaction will be. What do you guys think abou bringing a casual Gamer to PAX?

Seconding Nuri's suggestion to drink lots of water. Don't know how I forgot that one!
Bring a water bottle with d clip. You save a lot of money and most places let you fill it up with ice and water.
Btw, at the airport waiting to board the plane. Taking Jet Blue for the first time. I was totally impressed that the bag tags were huge compared to other airlines. You can barely fill them out while the Jet Blue tags are normal sized.

If this has any effect on you, call the Westin to get a solid confirmation.
When I saw Scott retweet that shit, I called them immediately when I was out shopping. They will call me back and let me know.
I'm hoping that we don't get moved. If anything we arrive early in Boston so that might help.
Ugh too much last minute shit and stress is so not needed.

Oh, and don't drink raw milk or eat sprouts.
