What's your total Volume count? I'll be hitting 750 this month.
Currently 604 - I've had to cut back a lot of what I was buying for the last few years. At one point I was collecting like 20 on going titles. Though magical the "hiatus" and cancellations from Viz and Tokyopop also helped me cut back.
Has anyone read the Priest manhwa that the new movie is based off of? The movie looks eh, but the idea of a religious order tasked with killing vampires sounds cool.

I read the first volume way back when it was first published in English, I can't say I remember much about it. Obviously now, I didn't want to keep going with it, since I only read that one volume. I think that at the time I though it was confusing and the art was muddled.
My manga shelves - I need to update this picture though, it's a bit out of date.
I opened this picture expecting something not nearly as grandiose. You have brought tears to my eyes.
What I'm in the middle of buying right now: Yotsuba&! Museum of Terror Higurashi When They Cry Monster Chi's Sweet Home Pluto Bokurano Akira Neko Ramen
Hahaha, only if you have a very cheap house. I'd say I only paid cover price for maybe 10% of what I have. I worked at a comic book store for about three years, so I always got my store discount. I've bought a lot at cons, searched bins in comic book stores, and checked out the used book store. I'm always looking for the best deals on titles.
Right now, it's about abusing the Borders coupon system the best way I can. The Borders Rewards Plus card has free shipping on anything ordered at Borders.com. Currently, there is a sale of buy one paper back get the second 50% off. Well, manga counts for that sale. Then you can add in a 33% (or the occasional 40%) off coupon. Plus, an extra 10% for being a Borders Rewards member. It comes close to getting one of the volumes for free. Between the Borders emails with coupons and the different coupons I get from clicking on Borders banner ads (one of the few good reasons to have them turned on) I get an almost endless supply of them.

You are what I aspire to become ;_; I am still crying.

I do have a cheap house...but that's beyond the point. I am curious any estimation on how much you got that treasure trove for?
Well, I am currently up to to 610 volumes so even if I did play say $10 for everything (which I most certainly didn't) that would be $6,100. Which if you bought a house for that much I'm super jealous. Even the cheapest house in the ghetto city I live near isn't that cheap. I'm honestly not very sure how much I've actually spent though, that is several years worth of collecting.

OK, it wasn't that cheap (I would be scared to live in that house) but still....$6,100(Interrobang) I could have built a really nice rig for that! I mean I understand, nice collection, but I think my heart just stopped for a minute.
Well, like I said I don't really know how much I have really spent. I'd say more in the range of $3,000 to $5,000 is more realistic. Almost every manga was bought some with sort of discount, coupon, sale, or bought used. The most expensive items I currently have (which are not manga) are that Fallout 3 Special Edition and anything framed (because getting any framed is outrageously expensive). At one point I had a really sweet video game collection that over the years I've sold most of it off. At this point I only collect manga, and an occasional art book. While, I still own a decent amount of DVDs I've only bought one DVD in the last year. I recently got Netfilx and was like ugh, WTF? I don't need most of these DVDs. I haven't even watch most of them more than once, so I traded a bunch of them in. Having a crazy collection like this has its pros and cons too. It's awesome to behold. I think it’s super awesome to have a whole wall covered in bookcases but I've moved...a lot. This stuff had to be moved like 4 times in a little over 2 years. Not fun.
On the note of Erica Friedman has anyone else check out Gunjo? It is really amazing to think someone so young has written a work to intense. I whole heartedly recommend it for anyone who likes manga with realistic art and a hard boiled story. It’s also nice change of pace to see a hard boiled story about women, I don’t think I have seen that all that often.
I've also been on a big Fumi Yoshinaga kick after reading Antique Bakery. Which I finally gave in and read it after the House of 1000 Manga post on it. One of my online friends had been bugging me to check it out for a while but I was kind of holding off. LOL, now I know why I held off so long. I knew I would like her work too much and overdo it. I've since order 10 more volumes of her work (none of which I paid full price for). I'm still waiting for a lot of it to come in. I can't wait to read it all. She really manages to write stories that are both sweet and bitter at the same time without being to sappy or melodramatic.

OMG I love Fumi Yoshinaga. She writes BL as well as more mainstream titles, but she does a really decent portrayal of people who are actually gay. The one I am following is her Seinen title "What did you eat yesterday?" which is published in a regular magazine, and it is about this committed middle-aged gay couple, one of whom is a lawyer who really likes to cook and one of whom is a hairdresser, and follows sort of a slice of life style. It's not about making out or sexy sexy BL for the fangirls, but more about making delicious food and little moments in a long term relationship. It's about parents and jobs, and friends and love, and it would make everyone want to allow gay marriage.
I just bought about 50 volumes of manga at Anime North. Full accounting to come, but I got a series about a female Soviet MiG pilot; I didn't even read the back, I just bought it immediately.
Hmmm, I recognized Ogiue cosplaying Azusa, but I had never seen any of the other shows so I didn't know the characters they were dressed up as, but thanks for the link. But yeah, I pretty much knew that I'd be better of not knowing the characters Ohno is giving to Hato. I was just asking because at one point I thought it would come to him cosplaying Mariya from Maria+Holic.
Was walking past the comic book shop and saw Bride's Story vol 1 so I bought it and made sure to tell the guy on the desk that I was a fan (Hopefully they'll get more of them in if people ask.). The other is a small comic made by someone I met at thought bubble a while ago who's art style and general tone is really unexpected.
I strongly recommend everyone pick up Bride's Story (And quickly.) if they liked Emma, they've done an outstanding job to make it look and feel luxurious. The pages are sturdy, large and clean, which is really essential when it comes to the ludicrous level of detail that Mori puts into her art. It's also a hard cover with writing only on the spine and one of the nicest dust jackets I've seen.
Translation is of the highest quality, all characters speaking with distinct and natural pattens of speech. Clear, standard font, all very clean; They also leave all the sound effects in Japanese (Much of it is drawn into the scene.) and add a phonetic translation as well as meaning in small text.
Even though the price is high (Should be £9 but I was charged £13.) it is well worth it for fans of quality art and story.

Keep your secrets, Brand.

The School Days series it known for being messed up, even by Japanese standards.
