  • I've been reading old issues of JoJo's Bizzare Adventures (up to Stone Ocean now) and Toriko, which is really the greatest thing.

Vertical just added two new titles to it's line-up. First, because they finished releasing Black Jack they need another long running Tezuka manga to release, so the picked up PRINCESS FUCKING KNIGHT!!! WHOOOOOOOO!!! Also, they just picked up a cool looking series called Drops of God which is about wine, I assume wine tasting because of some of the cover art.

  • After much urging over a long period of time, Jeremy has started reading Pluto. He started a day or so ago, he's on volume 4 now. ^____^

It's a classic of manga and is my second favorite manga series ever. What's my favorite comic (not just manga) of all time? This.

I'm just happy he's getting into something else than Shonen Jump "stuff". Baby steps. Baby steps.

I have yet to read any of Tezuka's stuff like Mu, Buddha, or Apollo's Song. I'll eventually remedy that. I have 20th Century Boys on deck, then I have Twin Spica vol 1-5 coming in the mail.
  • It's Mw, not Mu.

Read Buddha first, of all the things that have been brought over into English, I consider that to be his masterpiece although I havn't read Ayako. Seriously, even though it's a bit expensive to buy compared to the done-in-one books like Apollo's Song or MW, I know for absolute fact that your library has copies to spare if you place a hold. Trust me, I checked.

    Oh, that's right. I've been reading the katakana all wrong. I have no idea how/why I did that, since MW is on the left side of the cover. ^^;;
  • Apollo's Song
It's a story about the power of love.

You'll think I'm joking once you get about halfway though it, but I maintain my position (even when he stuffs her body in an oildrum and provokes the police into shooting him to death).
  • The end proves your point.
  • Princess Knight is going to be epic in manliness! :D
  • Just finished reading vol. 1 of Twin Spica. Wow. I'm already emotionally invested win the main character and her story. It is very said and heartwarming at the same time. It kinda reminds me of Battle Athletes Victory. Sorta.

I felt the same way. She's a good girl. I also get choked up about Mr. Lion.

I've never heard of this manga you speak of, but I am a big fan of everything on that cover. The only way there could be more things I like on that cover is if there was also Lord Byron and Batman.

The extra story at the end of volume 3 called "Asumi's Cherry Blossoms" made me break out into tears.

I really like the drawings of young Asumi. She's so adorable.
  • Nightschool: The Weirn Books by Svetlana Chmakova, same author as DramaCon, is a fun and super addicting read. I just read the first 2 volumes in one sitting. It's too bad there are only four volumes out and they seem to only come out twice a year.
  • Still reading my way slowly through the intimidatingly huge JJBA.
  • X-Men Misfits. X-Men in the teenage angsty world of shojo. <3
  • X-Men Misfits. X-Men in the teenage angsty world of shojo. <3</p>
Yea it wasn't bad, are they every going to reason volume 2?
  • Under that title I expected something featuring Glenn Danzig or at least Jerry Only. Man, am I disappointed.
  • Does anyone know if Vagabond has ended? I just finished volume 9 of the Vizbig edition (which goes up to volume 27 of the individual editions) and see on Amazon that it goes up to volume 33, so there should be at least 2 more vizbig editions (28-30 and 31-33), but is the series over?
  • looks like the fan translations are mid way through vol. 34 so I'm guessing the collection will coming in the next few months.

From where they are in the story I'm guessing there will easily be at least three or four more volumes.

Thanks! Love this series and I really hope it has a definite ending.

Yeah, I heard it's been forever since the release of volume 1 and volume 2 might never happen. FUUUUUU! I just finished vol. 1 and this is the kind of shojo fix I've been needing. I want MOAR!

    Cancelled
"UPDATE: Telgemeier and Roman posted a longer commentary about the premature end of the X-Men Misfits series at their LiveJournal site. Besides thanking Anzu and their editors at Del Rey Manga, Telgemeier and Roman also had this to add:

And of course, a final word of thanks to all the people who have vocally supported X-Men: Misfits. We knew there would be a lot of skepticism about the project from the beginning, so hearing from so many people who "got it" really made us happy. The cancellation is still sinking in and we certainly appreciate the people who have already shared their feelings with us. That's publishing, though. Series are NOT sure things. The best way to support a series you love is to buy the books, and spread the word. In the meantime, we imagine we'll continue to get tons of Google Alerts, letting us know about all the torrents and rapidshare files of X-Men: Misfits there are out there...

Seriously, can anyone justify "scanlating" and pirating a series that never needed to be "translated" into English? Now thanks to sales that were less than required to make publishing X-Men Misfits Volume 2 financially feasible, there will be no Volume 2, period. Chew on that for a few, folks."

If you like it buy it, guess not enough people "liked it" :-p
