Okay, here's one I've tried to find an answer on for a few weeks now, and can't. Still, I suppose I'm ready to be ridiculed when it's absurdly easy and stupid to find.
My volume mixer is kinda useless. Basically, I have three settings. On and tolerably loud, off, and On and intolerably loud. It has settings from 0 to 100, but anything above ten is absurdly loud. There's zero appreciable difference between 20 and 100, as anything beyond 20 is beyond the limit of what my headphones can produce.
So, is there any way to re-zero my windows volume mixer so that 100 is full volume, and it goes down from there, or am I stuck with this nonsense?
So, here's my situation. For the past few weeks, the radio station where I did an internship class (interning for college credit) has been repeatedly telling me that they want me to work there (for pay) over the summer on a part-time basis to help with their expansion into video and their social media stuff. The station manager, the office manager, and the membership director have all said, under no uncertain terms, that they want me there over the summer. Thing is, they have yet to actually offer me a position there. Meanwhile, I've applied to a Souplantation where a friend of mine works. I had my first interview today and my friend texted me saying that her manager told her that he intends to hire me.
I am considering sending the radio station an email saying something to the effect of "Listen, I really want to work with you guys (because I love working in radio) but it's been three weeks and you guys haven't given me a definite answer one way or the other. I have a job elsewhere lined up, but I don't want to accept that job if I can work for you guys, even if it's only part-time."
I basically want to light a little fire under their butts so I can get an answer. Is this a good idea?
Is it weird that I'm actually really eager to find out what thing among young people I'm going to hate them for and believe will lead to violence? Like, I'm already resigned to the idea that sometime in the next ten to fifteen years my brain is going to solidify into a useless mass and I'm going to be an old man yelling at clouds; so I just can't wait to find out what shape those clouds are in.
What is a decent brand or store for pants? I am getting annoyed everywhere I look as skinny seems to be the main variant and of the ones that fall outside that they seem to all have something I dislike, such as destroyed.

While you're there, think of investing in a good winter overcoat. They're not cheap*, but they'll last forever.
*Disclaimer: When I got mine I was working for a bank, so they gave me a 25% discount. They also threw in a ~$400 leather suitcase which I use pretty much every time I fly, so it turned out to be a pretty good deal overall.
I will have to check them out and as for the winter overcoat I will look into it. It is not something I am too worried about in the short-term since I live in southeast Georgia but it will probably come in handy at some point.
Anyone know what is the new hotness when it comes to ripping DVDs on the cheap? Handbreak is doing nothing for me with the DVD I am trying to rip for CTcon and was wondering if someone had a good alternative.

Is it because the DVD is encrypted or region encoded? If that is the case, Handbrake alone will not do the trick. I use Slysoft AnyDVD in combination with Handbrake, and I have yet to meet a DVD I can't rip.

Its not due to region encoding, I have AnyDVD and agree that it is awesome, the issue might be that there could be some programming that is used within the DVD to allow it to run properly. The DVD in question is for a not suck version of Monopoly and would like to highlight some of the things it includes in the panel. I am going to give it another go and see if I can crack the thing.

Think of the things you hated the most in childhood. Now imagine you're the cause of those things.
How much energy would a circular particle accelerator, say, six inches in diameter, need to accelerate alpha particles to destructive speeds? (probably talking relativistic speeds)
It appears Handbreak only can pull chapters 1 and 3 and slows my system to a crawl...suspect some foul play on the disc at this point. Might need to do it ghetto style and capture it in another manner.
I have discovered an "over hard" version of eggs, I need to investigate this style next time I have them...
Over-easy is the eminently superior style.
You seem to have made a typo there as soft boiled eggs are the best, shortly followed by poached eggs with a benadict sauce. Just clearing that one up for you :^

FTFY, Benedict is the dish, poached eggs with ham on an English muffin and smothered in Hollandaise sauce.
I think it started rolling out a couple of weeks ago. I am not sure if my account does it yet though as inline replies rolled out to me just a week or two ago. I always seem to be the one of the last that things roll out to.

Oh, I see what you did there. Very clever Mr. NSA plant.
