You DO have a lovely handspun, handknit hat and a wool peacoat. If you don't start wearing your shit, I'm giving them to a homeless person or (very large) kid.
Here in central IL we had highs on Sunday and Monday around -10 F. With wind chill it was cold enough to freeze the nuts off a steel bridge. When it got up to zero yesterday I noted it to my girlfriend, who said it was weird to be glad that we were headed back toward the single digits. High today was 22, which has been nice, but we're staring down a high chance of snow tonight and into tomorrow morning. I know I'm not looking forward to having to get my happy ass back out and shovel the driveway yet again. It took me about an hour to clear the ten inches of white crap off it last time.
My FB is getting flooded with them. I'm tending to pretty much ignore all of them, however I'll look at eggs's bitstrips.
How long ago was that a thing? Wasn't it a thing? If so, I wonder what caused its resurrgence.
I love bitstrips. I don't get all the haters out there who find them annoying, but I guess it's like any other app/game out there that people choose to block.
I saw one of my FB friends make one and I had to too, now I can't stop! I don't think it's stopped being a thing, but I only make one every couple of days instead of 5 a day now...

The art style, the way the faces look... I think it's been meticulously crafted to subliminally inspire homicidal rage, self loathing, lust , and good 'ol ultra-violence. And are annoying.
The captions tend to be bad, but essential to solving the joke... Or decent but still essential.
I just read the wiki article but it's effect on directx (more specifically directx's graphics library direct3d) is that it's meant as a "alternative" ie they want you to use it. The only issue with it so far is that it's specific to AMDs architecture so fuck that.
Does it bother anyone else when someone quotes something and then says some variation of "this! So much this!"? I always imagine someone saying that in person when someone else makes a point during a discussion and how embarrassingly weird it would sound. Saying something like "Agreed" or something makes so much more sense. But saying "this" just looks dumb.
Okay guys, it looks like BLOODCRUSHER II isn't getting into the indie megabooth at Pax East, unless a miracle happens. So I'm taking a step back and reevaluating, and I realized I sort of laser-focused on this one con. So here is my question.
I live in Ottawa, Ontario. What gaming or similar cons are happening over the next six months or so that I can get to? I know almost nothing about most conventions but I need to start showing up to some. Can I get some names as a jumping off point?

I woulda just googled that if that was the information I wanted. But I'm trying to use the vast collective knowledge of the FRC forums here so I can be more targeted.
I was looking at my University's requirement for "broadening" units. I'm pretty sure they will dispense with the requirement after they realise I have experience in other degrees.
However while I was researching an alternative, I found that it could be removed by just going on an exchange program for a semester.
The following are on their list for Computer Science partners.
I was wondering if any of these Universities are well thought of in regards to CS -
Auburn University (USA) Bellarmine University (USA) Boston College (USA) Indiana University Bloomington (USA) Montana State University (USA) North Carolina State University (USA) Pennsylvania State University (USA) Purdue University (USA) University of California, Davis (USA) University of California, Irvine (USA) University of California, Los Angeles (USA) University of California, Merced (USA) University of California, Riverside (USA) University of California, San Diego (USA) University of California, Santa Barbara (USA) University of California, Santa Cruz (USA) University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (USA) University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (USA) University of New Mexico (USA) University of Pennsylvania (USA) University of Texas at Austin (USA) University of Vermont (USA) University of Washington (USA) Willamette University (USA)
The only one I have any knowledge on is UC Davis because they have a pretty good Veterinary program but I doubt that translates to all other degrees.
I'm currently assuming only the Californian Universities would be worthwhile being close to the larger technology companies and useful to find people to network with.
Once I'm registered and done at least first semester I will be able to apply to see if other Universities would like to host an exchange student (e.g. RIT isn't on this list but I can make a request regardless).
Almost all of those schools are major public universities. They should all offer pretty much everything. They specialize in sports and drunken parties.

Thanks for the info, I have an aunt and uncle who live in Philadelphia so I would have someone I know there.
And if I can line something up with RIT, my Godmother lives in Rochester.
As far as Boston goes I have a classmate who is doing research work over there. Since he's moved to Boston, he's gained even more weight (he was the heaviest of our group to begin with), has become a Rugby star (even though he never played at Uni), is exponentially more indignant and can't take a joke.
I don't know if it's Boston or if he was a dick all along.

All I get on Google is promotional stuff and conspiracy theorists plus the odd console fanboy saying 720p is better than any PC resolution.
It will be interesting to see if this produces an appreciative powershift between nVidia and AMD.
nVidia might be mobile enough to adapt to this or might be left eating dust.
DirectX has some problem with abstracting too much, for e.g. you can't tell it which major core to send your calculations to.
No, I'm not bitter. Still. Why do you ask?
How bad did you piss off Tzeenth (the biggest asshole of the random number gods) that day?
And I ask because I want to do a presentation at cons (would like to debut at ConnectiCon) about using Sun Tzu's axioms to win more at 40K.
All 1's on my part. All 6's on his.
I literally surrendered.

Although U of P is at a great location in Philadelphia with many avenues to travel withing the other metropolitan areas.
