  • Japan's got those all over the place.

I have never seen those before. Ketchup packets are simply a sacks with you pull open one on end and roll from the other like a tube of toothpaste.

And, further, most people in the states recognize a distinction between tomato sauce and ketchup. The former typically coming in a can and being a cooking ingredient, the latter being what you put on a hot dog.

No hot dog buns, that's okay, we improvise in MY kitchen.

Salty? Not as salty as you're gonna be.
  • I just realized I don't think I'd seen a picture of you before that post.

That's tomato paste, mate. And Tomato Sauce(condiment) and Ketchup(Tomato) are basically identical nowdays, thanks Heinz.

Though, depending on where you go, sauces on pasta might be called Pasta Sauce, or you might have to rely on context, like "In tomato Sauce" probably doesn't mean it's coming out floating in Ketchup.

And get sauce all over your fingers like some sort of animal?

I don't believe I've posted a pic of me before this.

Your cat seems incredibly interested in this culinary adventure. How's the taste, not bad?

Nah not too bad. It was more... chunky? Than ketchup but otherwise had a good flavor with the Italian herbs and spices in it.

Also yeah, Sam always wants whatever we're cooking up, especially if he hasn't been fed in the past hour or so. I had just gotten home so he was all up in my business wanting food.
  • Okay, so we've established two things - Rest of world apart from Japan and parts of the UK need to sort their fucking sauce game out, and Tomato paste actually isn't that bad on hot-dogs.

I think we can call that a victory.
  • Is anyone doing anything with oLEDs anymore? I vaguely remember Rym and Scott possibly talking about them on the show roughly around 2008-2009 (or maybe it was a science article) and haven't heard much since.

Yep! LG has new OLED TVs that are supposed to be crazy. Also, tons of rumors about there possibly being curved OLED screens on the iPhone 7.
  • Also Oculus uses OLED.

I've heard that Samsung had OLED computer monitors at CES this year boasting some ridiculous specs (4k, really low response time), but at something like a $3k price point. They're coming, though.

  • The main issue with OLED is that the organic part of the screen degrades with use. Works fine for phones and tablets where on screen time is really low compared to what would be expected of a monitor.
I think the blue colour starts degrading first.

Oh, that sucks. I wanted to use them for glasses or windshields for HUD displays.
  • Samsung, LG and a few other panel companies are putting most of their research into elongating the life of the screens.
There are transparent OLED screens too with HUD as a use case.
  • Dell has their ridiculous 4k OLED Ultrasharp. It's only $5k or so per monitor?

You can get 2 5K monitors from Apple for the same money. Bonus, they come with free computers!

Yeah but the point was getting an OLED screen. I don't often go to the supermarket, ask for watermelon and get directed to buy 2 lemons instead. :^)

No, that's even easier to block.

Yeah. You can have an unlimited amount of domains/subdomains/etc, but you only have a limited number of IP's.
  • Ok but I thought the hosts file mapped a domain to an IP
  • How do you pluralize an abbreviation? A lot of people use 's but that's just wrong. Apostrophe for pluralization? Fuck that. What do you guys do?
