  • Knowing when to blitz certain classes as a team is a huge part of competitive play.
  • Is this going to be Highlander rules (1 player per class per team,) or anything goes? If Highlander rules we'll need more than 2 teams with the number of people we have so far.
It's going to be anything goes. Teams may want to co-ordinate the classes they choose, but there's no restriction on the number or types of classes you can have.
  • I'm not on the original list, but count me in for this

    Six heavies. Can't lose.
  • Everybody's favorite distraction is in. I'll be available on weekends, like most of us.
  • I be happy to join in next weekend is a free one.
  • I'll be happy to join in.
  • I'm in. I think I'll have my headset working by then.
  • Saturday or Sunday works for me. If I'm not in on one, I'll be in on the other.
  • Think we can decide on maps? Or will we just be going random? I think the VoiceChat during these games are going to be fun as hell.
  • I think that's a good question. Do we want to pick from the current rotation, or added maps too?
  • I'd prefer to avoid gimmick maps, despite how amusing they can be.

Agreed. 2fort, Nucleus, Dustbowl, stuff like that. Gotta know your roots.
  • I'd also be glad to join.
  • Fuck 2fort as well.
  • No items, Fox only, Final Destination.
  • Sign me up.

    Fuck 2fort as well.
Knowing that map, there will be one capture, then it will immediately turn to being two defenses that are near impossible to penetrate in any practical way, unlike your mom.

Your mom's like a game of Payload: she ran along my track until my cart blew up her control point.

I'm making a form on Google Docs to vote on maps. It'll be up shortly.
    EDIT: Vote for maps here
If there's a problem, please tell me so I can fix it.

  • Are we going to allow the expanded item set? Or just the core, "original" weapons?
  • edited July 2011
I'm guessing we would disable all random variation (random crits, random distance modifier).

So, are there any important weapons that we'd be missing out on with only the standard stuff?
I feel like I'd miss having the utility of the Bonk! Atomic Punch for Scout and Gunslinger for Engineer.
The Sandman is kinda overpowered, so I don't think we'd have it anyway.

I want to do this soooo badly. I'd love for it to be original weapons only, no special bullshit, but I'd be fine either way.

  • I am in a love affair with my soldier's Direct Hit, but I can go classic if need be.
  • I love how people are jumping in to tell Neito how he's going to gimp the game for them.
  • I'm ok with expanded items. Still, fuck 2fort.
  • Re: extended items, I'm not going to do an item-by-item nitpick of every "fair" and "unfair" weapon. That's only going to open this up to endless bitching about why this item was removed but this one wasn't. So here's the deal. You have two choices: All the crazy bullshit weapons, or none of the crazy bullshit weapons.
  • I'm down for whatever but I would like a variety of options for both the pros (Andrew, Jason, etc..) and the noobs (me, me, me). Have a least one silly fun map and the rest the normal ones. It makes the game amusing.

As for weapons, it doesn't matter to me. I just want to play.
  • I agree with the "all or none" option. My vote's for none, but again I'd be happy either way.
  • I'd love for it to be original weapons only
