The Adventure Maximus! Kickstarter was successfully funded last night, after being the Kickstarter Staff Pick of the Day. Hopefully it can reach some of the stretch goals.
If you know anyone who has a kid that you'd like to introduce to the hobby of roleplaying, or a niece, nephew, cousin, whomever, or you're just an adult (Pete!) that would enjoy playing a fun and comical roleplaying game, check it out.
The trip thing is that I know about half of the crew at Cryptozoic. Hex is directly down their alley such that things go in alleys. Hopefully the passion carries over into the project.
The Video Game Years is a show in the vein of the "I love the [insert year here]" where it talks about video games. They managed to get up to 1985 funded and are about half way to the initial goal, giving a bump to these guys to help them out and because they asked nicely.
There were some people playtesting it at the store a few weeks ago. That's all I know, but I'm not champing at the bit for more worker placement + dice.

Ain't that the fucking truth. From now on, I plan on be very cautious when it comes to Kickstarting a boardgame. Viva Java and Ground Floor are some of the examples of why.
I'm happy I got Skyline with Ground Floor.
I'm very disappointed with the service of reward items from Viva Java aka Dice Hate Me Games. I have been extremely patient and understanding about getting my extra rewards of the tote bag and custom brewples. I was told by the creator that on March 17 that he would be taking care of that during that week.
Yeah.
It was until April 30, that they sent out a Kickstarter message asking us to fill out a form to see if we received the items for whatever reward level we pledged and if we wanted a refund. I filled it out and I want my rewards.
Still haven't received my tote bag or custom brewples. I'm very disappointed, especially since I know the had another successful Kickstarter close out in February. I am now jaded vs their company in general. Such piss poor customer service.
It irked me even more because I follow the guy on Twitter and seeing him post shit about doing other shit and not taking this business was a bit of a salt into the wound.
This looked interesting, plus a RIT alumni Lee Amarakoon (a good friend of a Past Anime Club President) is part of the team. I have a policy to try and fund any friends kick-starters (if they look decent) :-p
I just got the second half of my Unico pledge. It is both one of the very, very last manga that Tezuka ever made and a hilariously awesome take on Astro Boy. Also a good manga to introduce to kids so you can help them get into the medium.
I wanted to get the third book they offered, Triton of the Sea, but I wasn't rich at the time. I'll probably pick it up later.
I met the creator at Emerald City Comic Con and he did an awesome Panda Pirate sketch for me. I also purchased his first book at read it. It's some pretty good stuff. I laughed a bit. It's about a pirate who got cursed by a gypsy and has a cat for a beard and his travels for treasure. So if you get $30 to spend, you can get vol. 1 & 2.
Probably going to up my pledge on Dude Bro Party Massacre 3 soon. I really, really want to see this movie made, and I don't know if they'll be able to hit their goal in the next two weeks at the rate they're going. 5SF are good peoples, and I'd love to see them succeed at this.
Armikrog is a Kickstarter that I really want to see succeed, and now I'm worried that it might not.
Armikrog is a new point-and-click adventure game from Earthworm Jim creator Doug TenNapel. The game will be DRM-free and cross-platform on all types of computers. It's a spiritual successor to The Neverhood and will be entirely animated in clay. It will feature the voice talents of people you might recognize like MST3K's Mike Nelson, voice acting guru Rob Paulsen, and PvP creator Scott Kurtz, among others.
The game has a $900,000 set goal, and although the funding came off to a great start, it slowly trickled down to a crawl, and with only 10 days left, it's only barely past half its goal (the current tally as of this post is $536,346).
I really want to see this game get made, so I'm spreading the word out about this as much as I can.

Robot Scorporin compells you to back Orion's Odyssey
$83 for all printed volumes and PDFs is too pricey for me right now.

Are there any good boardgames with a dystopian setting and mechanics that are fun but reinforce the theme?
Come to think of it, I think I just want to play Papers, Please the boardgame.
