UFS is the old Penny Arcade card game, right? Yep, it is. I just Googled it.
I think of every game I have ever played, it has the worst rules ever. It's not even like it was just bad, and some others were close to it. It is undisputed the absolute worst. The example we often use for bad rules is Hellas. But Hellas' crime was not ruling on common interactions. UFS was just plain incomprehensible.
I have never watched it but all I hear is good things. I just don't watch a whole lot of video, but I'll get around to it. Oh wait House of Cards Season 2 is coming. Maybe next month.
Fail and unnecessary. All you ever need is electronic vibrating football and Blood Bowl. If you really need more, Tecmo Bowl and Madden have you covered.

I thought it might be interesting since it would help focus more on the strategic aspects of football. I have no idea how the electronic football games work, though
On Wednesday night, law enforcement officials contacted Kickstarter and alerted us that hackers had sought and gained unauthorized access to some of our customers' data. Upon learning this, we immediately closed the security breach and began strengthening security measures throughout the Kickstarter system.
No credit card data of any kind was accessed by hackers. There is no evidence of unauthorized activity of any kind on your account.
While no credit card data was accessed, some information about our customers was. Accessed information included usernames, email addresses, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and encrypted passwords. Actual passwords were not revealed, however it is possible for a malicious person with enough computing power to guess and crack an encrypted password, particularly a weak or obvious one.
As a precaution, we strongly recommend that you change the password of your Kickstarter account, and other accounts where you use this password.
To change your password, log in to your account at Kickstarter.com and look for the banner at the top of the page to create a new, secure password. We recommend you do the same on other sites where you use this password. For additional help with password security, we recommend tools like 1Password and LastPass.
We’re incredibly sorry that this happened. We set a very high bar for how we serve our community, and this incident is frustrating and upsetting. We have since improved our security procedures and systems in numerous ways, and we will continue to do so in the weeks and months to come. We are working closely with law enforcement, and we are doing everything in our power to prevent this from happening again.
Kickstarter is a vibrant community like no other, and we can’t thank you enough for being a part of it. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. You can reach us at accountsecurity@kickstarter.com.
Not sure if it is worth getting these "smart" earphones. There is some interesting use scenarios for them but they seem to be cagey about giving in depth information about the audio that is produced and the quality of microphone.
Also I'm not sure how much noise cancellation is present as I'm really use to having the -20db from Etymotic products for the last 7 years.
Mage: the Ascension 20th Anniversary Edition, aka M20, is up. Of all the White Wolf games, it's my favorite—a fantastic premise with terrible mechanics. But I only gave them a $1. Why?
The M20 pdf is $35. Fuck that. The most I've paid for a pdf is $20, and that was Burning Empires when I knew I would be playing it the next week. At $35, you also get some bonus, stretch goal pdfs, but you don't get all the stretch goal pdfs. Those require the backing the book. Which starts at $135.
My nostalgia is strong, but it's not that strong.
In other Mage news, some designers are working on a M:tA hack of Fate Core. I will just shift my excitement there.
It's a seemingly endless cycle of re-investing the profits you just made directly back into the project and hoping it results in an even greater number of people now jumping onto the project due to the new shininess.
In reality, I see most projects biting off more than they can chew, and promising things that will wind up being more expensive than they realize. This just results in big delays, problems with shipping, and no money for the creator.
Why create more stretch goals if you've already met your goals? Just to get more money from more people?
That is a common complaint, that instead of using the extra money to make the core of the game/thing even better they make new stuff that in the end stretches the development team thin or they end up creating something completely different.
Yeah, if I see a lot of stretch goals, I'd be more inclined to not back it. First, it's already funded. Second, it's more likely to be late or disappear entirely the more work they have to do.
Wishing the developers were honest about their product and not selling an incomplete version just to come under a certain price point and then later charging extra for content that should have been included from the start.
In my understanding the stretch goals originally came from when people kept giving money to a project that had already reached it's goal and it was kinda way for the the developers show how they can use that extra money to improve the product even more, instead of just pocketing everything that goes over the original goal.

UFS is the only game that gave me a migraine after reading the rules.

Board with Life Season 2
It is a comedy troupe who have sketches around board games and appears to have a promotional video that actually knows what they are doing.
I have not seen any of Season one but the video alone has my interest peaked.

I'm looking forward to it. Too bad about having to charge Canadians for shipping. That probably helped a bit with the total amount funded.

Not that I've ever backed a Kickstarter project.
I have kickstarted many projects.
Or something like that at least.
