Higgs and Englert got the Nobel Prize for formulating the Higgs mechanism and predicting the existence of the Higgs boson. Very informative advanced pdf here and a more pop sci explanation here.
The brothers Green who bring you SciShow and Crash Course and the Brain Scoop have a new show up and running. It's about medicine and called Healthcare Triage.
I have little faith that this will end well. While Bill Nye is definitely legit and one of the best science educators we have, hard core Creationists like the founder of said museum are such experts in doublespeak and whatnot they can make even someone as intelligent at Nye sound like a fool to the unwashed masses.
Yeah... debates like that are soap boxes to stand on. The people that support creationist guy will be all the happier to continue agreeing with him and sending him donations. Not to be a total downer, but it's just rhetoric for both sides mostly.
The situation where creationism is still present and popular baffles me. Also the comments on the page are stupid to the point of infuriating.
I wonder if there are any / many hardcore creationists outside of the US. I can't think of any in Australia or the south and south-east Asian countries I've been to. I can't recall it being a topic of contention in the UK when I lived there for a brief time.
Very logical viewpoint. I have already practised this in the past without realising I was doing it -
Clients come in usually see "alternative medicine Veterinary specialists" (reiki, chinese herbs, acupuncture).
Basically I don't try and convince them of changing but make them aware that I can fix their pet's health problems trivially. They then go for a mini rant and end up coming back a few days to weeks later for actual treatment after the problem has become even worse.
Ignoring pseudo-science or in this case pseudo-medicine and letting it fail on its own reinforces real science.

And they have body armor.
Heck, I don't think there's anything that CAN'T power a battery.
If funding can be got, human trials can start this year.
