I can bring Caverna if needs be. My gf and I are willing to check a bag filled almost entirely with games ince we can both more or less live out of our carryons.
In case anyone wants to go, I still have a single 4-day badge for PAX South that no one needed. (Ro, Jeremy and I are three of the four badges I bought).
Gonna have to creatively box up all these games... Castles of Mad King Ludwig and Machi Koro are both reboxable. One Night Ultimate Werewolf is tiny. Not bringing something as large as Caverna again. :P
I also have Machi Koro and will be bringing my copy. It is definitely easily reboxable.
Also, here is an updated list of our games. Since we are flying, we can't necessarily bring a lot, but I will consider requests. I am planning on bringing Machi Koro, Splendor, Sheriff of Nottingham, Ginkgopolis, and I should have Aquasphere by then as well.
I'll come up with a list of what we will bring soon... At the very least, Splendor, Machi Koro, Sheriff of Nottingham, and Ginkgopolis will be in my bags.
I don't want to bring as much shit as we normally do, but we'll see about the chips and the game. We always end up bringing stuff that we don't end up playing that takes up too much space.
The goal is to bring a few long games like 7 Wonders and more easy to bust out and condense games like Splendor, Sushi Go, or Machi Koro.
The PAX South schedule has some humorous errors, particularly in their Tabletop Tournaments, with "Dominion at the Seaside" and "Lords of the Waterdeep." It sounds like my grandparents describing board games.
I checked out the musical acts, and The Returners are completely skippable. They are a local and mediocre cover band. They feature a flute, and I don't trust the audio to be able to properly mic that thing.
The One-ups, on the other hand, are fantastic! They are also a cover band, but of the jazz/funk variety, and feature a very capable sax player. That leads them down into some deep cuts of video game music history, and into many of my sweet spots. Can't say I will see them, since they are sandwiched between The Returners and Paul & Storm (who I am only a passing fan of and already just saw at a recent house show).
And on the whole bringing games thing, I should revise my policy to include some pocket-sized stuff. Namely, Rhino Hero.
Food is serious business. It's what fuels our brains for more powerful gaming. This being accepted as canon, I present the restaurants recommended to me by my cousin who lives in College Station, TX and all of his San Antonian friends...
Arcade Midtown Kitchen at the Pearl Brewery - http://www.arcademk.com/#/pages/menu - Distance from convention center: approximately 2 miles north.
La Fogata - http://www.lafogata.com/ - Distance from convention center: approximately 10 miles North-northeast. So this one is basically not on the table.
Hot Joy - http://hotjoysa.com/ - Distance from convention center: approximately 0.5 miles south.
Hanabi - Still know it. Haven't played since. Pandante - Mistook this for Panamax last time. No haz played but I've played a fuck ton of poker. I'll also be bringing the chips for this, apparently. Marakech - Haven't been able to find a copy to get to the table. Splendor - Got one play in. Played reasonably fast. Won. #BringIt 7 Wonders with all expansions - I've seen Babel so I am good to go. Sushi go - Played 3 hands when I learned it. Also discovered my gf doesn't believe brinksmanship is a real thing. Wizard - Haven't played but listened to the podcast. Been playing trick taking card games my whole life. Good to go. Netrunner - Know how to play. Know no cards. Willing to get ass beat if nothing else to play avails itself at the time. Hansa Teutonica - No change.

I'm starting to get excited.
GroupMe or some other mass message app for coordination?
I have family recommendations on food spots so I'm all ready to kick South off right!
If I was a betting man I'd say you could get from "Bad Games" to the Omegathon finale and not miss a moment of it.
Navegador or Imperial 2030 for serious German board game.
Roll Through the Ages: The Iron Age for line game - it's the sequel to Bronze Age, no relation to Late Bronze Age.
And whatever else strikes my fancy. Probably Caylus: Magna Carta, Phoenicia, Race for the Galaxy, or Roll for the Galaxy, whatever fits in my luggage.
