    Only a sampling - check out other songs in the related videos. If you decide to torrent this, just note that the most well-seeded torrent is a bootleg recording with really terrible quality. There is a good one though.

    EDIT: I bought it. This album is effing glorious, Not to mention a great deal. It's almost two and a half hours of music for $9 on Amazon MP3.

    I got Blood Venus by Goliath Bird Eater in the mail today, and it's really fucking good. Fans of sludgy stoner metal will dig it.

    Blood Venus rules, you should all download it right away. I've been listening to Mount Eerie's new album Wind's Poem a little bit lately. I posted about him a few pages back. On this new album, he has totally taken the plunge into metal. Some of the tracks on here are down right brutal, balanced out by his tried and true folk and ambient pieces.

    I second this. I love everything about this band, and that is a rare thing for me when it comes to metal.

    I think they struck a good chord with the music (ha). It's simple, catchy, and hard to really dislike; rather like AC/DC.

    I'm almost finished Heaven & Hell's first album (not as Black Sabbath), The Devil You Know and I would have to say that it is almost on par with Black Sabbath's Heaven & Hell album. It's definitely worth a listen. Maybe this can be some blog fodder in the future...

    I know previously in this thread the band Lightning Bolt was classified as noise and not metal, but their newest track is pretty brootal.

    Hmmmm...That would be worth the two-hour, $50 round-trip Amtrak ride from my school to Chicago.
