See? It's friendly too. You should watch it, if only for the quote "Trying to have a conversation with you is like trying to argue with a dining room table."
I absolutely love the age we live in. Last night, instead of reading tripe before going to bed, I browsed the "Top 100 Hubble Images" app for the iPad in darkness. Man, there are some spectacular images out there.
Then I got really curious about how stars are formed (couldn't remember the mechanisms and all) so I opened up Wikipedia and started reading.
An hour later, I had learned about how stars are formed, refreshed my knowledge of a star's lifespan, pondered the vastness of time and space (seriously? We haven't observed a white dwarf going dark because the universe hasn't existed that long?), learned about neutron stars and how we determined black holes must exist without being able to actually see them, read overviews of both General and Special theories of relativity... and fell asleep.
I wish there was some sort of place I could go and have a conversation with someone who knows this stuff in-depth so I could understand simple concepts, like how some areas of space have less than a vacuum's density. A place I could go without spending massive moneys (like college).
I have a blog for you. Now, the RSS updates with his old webcomics, which you can ignore, but every week he takes on a major scientific topic. Try this and see if you like it.

Fixed the link. I'll give it a shot.
You could also subscribe to The Astrophysical Journal which should give you access to their backlogs to look stuff up. It'll also get you new astrophysics stuff as a bonus.
