  • I missed that last one. Nice job.
  • She has lots of attitude! The roughness of the charcoal really worked for you.
  • Best part is, the picture is actually a guy.
  • Saw this guy on the street and thought, "Man, this guy is pissed about something."

    So I sketched him.

Getting bored during class gets ideas flowing.
Having played Mega Man on the Emulator the day before made me scribble some sketches of the robot bosses on the edge of the worksheets (in my defense, it was religion class), and so I ended up drawing my own interpretations of them. And now I present them in the crappy quality of my cellphone camera, for my printer/scanner has spontaneously decided to ignore my requests. NOW my scanner works again. And NOW: Enjoy~

Nice Metal Man. It's always fun to see different renditions of geeky things.

What is that snake suit guy? It reminds me of Serpentor.
  • Well, it's obviously Snakeman from Mega Man 3! ^^

I was frustrated when tring to beat him, because I could not figure out how his movement and attak pattern were and every time I thought I figured him out, he would throw those god damned mechanical snakes at me. So my rendition of him became much more, eh, fierce, then he looks in the real game.

Still have a melancholic sketch of Wood Man holding a leaf lying around somewhere, I'll try to get my scanner working when I find it.

Ah. I never really played Mega Man 3. ^^;; My bad. I'll have to get it on virtual console when/if it's available.

BTW, I enjoy your forum name and avatar. It makes me giggle.

    Ditto. *blush*
  • Them's some long eyebrows.
  • Fantasize? About him? I'd be too afraid of poking my eyes out!

Nice work, guys (and I mean that in the gender-neutral way). Oranges, finish your drawings!

Couldn't sleep, so I sketched a bit. All I've been doing lately is drawing underwear pervert comics and doing life drawing, so I'm losing my ability to to draw normal people in normal people clothes. Gotta start sketch-sniping at the coffee shops again.

    sketch-sniping
Ah excellent. I once sketch-sniped a homeless man in Star Bucks but it was close range. I was able to sneak up that close because he was asleep. Never go to sleep near an artist, we will draw you in full snore. Great drawing fetus, I'm lov'n the shapes. Did anyone start up their Darkstalkers contest art?

Not yet for me, but I've already chosen to do Lord Raptor. I'm thinking about doing one with him and Hsien-Ko since since Lord Raptor does have a crush on her. I'll start on it once I'm done with a few other projects that I've been doing to improve my coloring skills.

Not yet -- man, that deadline sounded far away, but it's barely more than a month now. I'd better get on it. I'm thinking of doing the characters that immediately spring to my mind when I think of Darkstalkers -- Victor, Lord Raptor, Jon Talbain and Felicia.

I've had a few ideas for drone music going through my head lately. Slow, fuzzy guitars, tribal sounding drums, and lots of cymbal washes. Here's what I've come up with so far, out of mostly improvisation. I've been listening to a lot Pocahaunted lately and want to find a girl willing to vocalize in a similar style over my music.

    Edit: oops wrong link.

  • I found these while digging through some files. I know a few of you had to have seen pictures in random things like stains or wood pattern. It's fun to spot them.

  • Talking of pareidolia, does anyone see a fish in that tree picture? We should do a thread where we draw pictures that we see within other peoples pictures in a recurring fashion.
  • It's calledPareidolia
I didn't know there was a name for that. I get that a lot and usually sketch it later or while looking. I though I was just weird. :P
  • Nice, I didn't know there was a name for that either.
@Viga: I think most people still think this is weird.
@Omnutia: Where is this fish? I don't see it for the life of me.

I think in the mouth part.
  • I didn't know there was a name for that.
We even have a name for the undescribable, so why wouldn't we have a name for everything describable? :)
  • @Ro: you know I never really did figure it out. :/
Here's a sketch to keep this thread afloat.

  • Looks great, Mankoon. I'm seeing a lot of improvement in your figure drawing fundamentals.
  • Why Japanese Stick Figures Don't Work.(edited in picknik)
Doodled this in Japanese class today and took a snapshot with my phone. I adjusted the contrast a bit in picknik.
