  • need marble, also crystal. have wine
    HEY! What about Sulphur?

Anyways, I too am in need of luxury supplies not native to my island. Marble, Crystal and Wine.
  • HEY! What about Sulphur?
Clearly, sulphur isn't very useful in the early part of the game. But once armies are the only way to gain new territory, people will be beating a path to your door.

What is a good price to pay for resources via the trading post?

I've got an option to buy crystal for 55 per piece at my trading post. I also built 3 ships. I was about to build a fourth ship when I noticed the price keeps going up with every ship you buy.

    I have no idea.

Think about the opportunity cost of a resource - each citizen generates 4 bucks, and it takes 1 citizen to generate 1 building material, or 2 for a luxury item. So, a base cost for a BM is 4 gold, and for a LI is 8. From there, use your judgement. If you can get a marble for 9, consider it a bargain. If someone offers marble for 30, and it's your only source, you'll probably have to accept that price.

There's a guy on my island who put out an offer of 6 gold per wood. IF that is the standard, which I have no way of proving, luxury good probably go for twice that, easily.

In other news you don't care about:
    1. One of my slingers died during my final attack last night, so I still don't know how much wood each brings back.
    2. Attacking somebody with ground troops on the same island takes 60 minutes.

  • So I woke up this morning to find out that I was going to be attacked in 4 minutes...

Any advice on how easy it is to pillage and/or attack a neighboring town? How do you find out how well the town is defended? I have a town next to me that appears to be undeveloped (original town name, nobody in the wood lot) - but I'm really not positive. If it is undeveloped, how many slingmen should I send in?

  • I will send someone a boat of rocks if they send me a boat of wine.

I have wine, how much you need?
  • I am under attack in 12 minutes by a far more advanced civilization. This might be the end for Toshi Station.

The same number as the number of rocks you need.
  • Would anyone please trade for marble?
  • According to the game it will take 22 hours for my boat to get to you...

Anyway, I can send you 200 if you send me 200.

Ok, as soon as I have 200, I will send it to you. I only have 170 something right now.

Are you looking for marble or getting rid of marble? I have wine and three boats to send it with.

I'll the ship send it off now since its going to take so long to get there.

  • If anybody can help me figure out how to make trades beyond my own island, I'd be happy to trade some wine with you.

Here is a good article on pillaging.

I just launched my first attack.

I also need information on launching my trade ships. It looks like there is a link in the Port to "Send Out Trade Ship" but it is not active. Do I need some sort of advance before sending goods or what?

Joe, did you build a port?

Only some towns on my map give me the option to send goods.

No, I thought I'd ride on the back of one of those whale-thingees you see so often on the world map, or maybe jcc could miracle me some marble over here.

Yeah, I have a port level 3. I'm at the point where I need a shitload of marble to build up my shit.
  • Go to my city on the world map [91:46] Sirako, and click on my city. It'll say transport goods in the side menu, from there you move the slider to how much you want to send and send it. It also gives you the approximate time it'll take for your ship to get to my city. (It's about 5 hours according to my screen.) And I'll do the same send my part of the trade to you.

I can send you up to 200 wine for an equal amount of crystal.

Diplomacy is the only action available when I click on your town. There must be something in game that opens up these options.

Ah, but therein lies the problem. My only option on the sidebar when I look at you is Diplomacy. However, when I look at towns on my own island, I have the option to trade with them.

I have a level three trading post and a level three trading port, with three cargo ships. Any ideas?

Do you have a trading post?

This seems odd since I was able to send a ship to Scott and he is far farther away then my range reaches.

    The wiki, it says nothing!

I have exactly the same situation and same lack of being able to transport goods off my goddamned island. Is it because I haven't done "Expansion" yet?
  • It could be expansion... do you have all your action points? I think that you may have to spend them to trade, or attack, or whatnot.
