Need Crystal/Marble. Can respond with equivalent in Sulphur, or gold at 15/piece for up to 200 pieces once I get expansion (approximately 17 hours). [63:15] Depugis.
I just keep raiding this guy over and over and get almost exactly the same thing every time.
Watch out for retaliation. I attacked the same guy (apparently) yesterday three times and he send me an angry message. Seeing as he has some allies I errred on the safe side and apologized. Now I'm attacking three different towns from a guy with little military might, with the sole reason that he has called his four towns Romania, Romania 2, Romania 3 and Romania 4. Guess which three I have attacked.
I'm crossing my fingers. He's not in an alliance. However, I'm beefing up my warehouse!
I actually wouldn't mind if this guy fights back. Right now, this easy pillaging is making the game way too easy. The only thing holding me back is time. I've tried whipping the scientists and impregnating my women, but it just doesn't work. Stupid society.

Just make sure your military score is higher than his. I already have a military score of 1560 (and total score of 244 hehe) with 2 phalanxes, 4 swordsmen and a level 2 wall. Which I'll be upgrading to level 3 once my shipyard is level 2, which will mean I can build Ballista ships.
Waging war is quite effective if you have some nice targets around. My army pretty much pays for itself when it's out pillaging. And it's an easy way to gather resources. I hope this last attack will bring in enough crystals to level up the academy again.
I am in desperate need of Marble. I've been playing a trading game with Sulphur (buy low sell high) and once I get my Palace built I should have enough money ready to build a colony on a nearby Marble island. The thing is the nearest Marble island with slots open is about 5 islands away from me.
Expansion finally finished, so once I get enough wood in an hour or two I'll be able to start shipping Wine to all of those who would like a bit of a population boom. If anybody wants to ship me some Marble or Crystal I'll send the same amount back as soon as I can.
Apparently you can destroy a city. I attacked an (i) city three times. It had a military value of 0, so I figured it was a good choice to keep raiding. I don't have the Governor research yet, so no chance of occupying. This last time after I attacked it, it disappeared. So apparently if you attack a city enough times and there is no resistance, you can end up destroying it.
EDIT: Just randomly perusing the rules and noticed this: "It is not allowed to attack any given city owned by a player over 6 times in a single 24 hours period." It's called Bashing. Good thing i was only up to 3 times on that attack.

Now the question is, does the game prevent you from attacking a seventh time? Or is it just a bollocks rule like the "OMG NOT ALLOWED TO BLOCK POOPUPS!" (note: poopups was at first me accidently hitting 'o' twice, then I figured it was suitable for such a retarded rule).
I think I'll be nice and send some supplies of wood and wine, and some sulphur, back to that Romania guy accompanied by a note telling him about his extremely original naming scheme for his empire.
I have been invaded and might be occupied. Does anyone know how long the attack duration can be? This attack that I'm dealing with is possibly a whole day long.
How do you check military scores and whatnot? Do you need spies?
I installed this greasemonkey script. It works wonders.
If you want to check the old fashioned way, click the highscores thing at the top of the screen, set the criteria to Generals, and search for the player's name to find their TOTAL military score. If they have more than one city, the units can be spread out between the two, so this won't be as sure of a bet in the late game.

According to the Wiki, they took out the option to start occupations because the code was bugged. Attacks are only supposed to last for 20 minutes or so, I believe, but if you get more units there before the attack finishes, the old units will assist the new units in the attack. Is it possible that you are under attack by an alliance?
Seems I'm being attacked in like a few hours. Any tips for what I should do for defense? I built a boat, and planning on building some more units and upgrading my wall.

A warship? Good, units, quick ones sure, wall upgrade is also good. More you can't do afaik. Perhaps send a nice request to the attacker to call his army back? And how many hours? More than one? God you're lucky then.
It doesn't say when it just says that the duration is 16 ish hours, meaning travel time to me and back is 16 hours, but I don't know when the attack was sent. So it could be any moment really.
Have you tried finding out his military score and comparing it to yours? If it's not too much higher, you might be able to train enough units to ward him off.
Also, out of curiosity, where does it tell you that you're going to be attacked? In the Military thingy?
Yeah, basically mine is the same. I have two ramships parked in my military shipyard. It doesn't seem like they have done anything to attack, but I am possibly blockaded.
I built a ram boat, and will probably build another one. I'm also thinking of making a bunch of slingers (since I have the resources,) and then just getting rid of them after the attack.
We have discovered a spy! We questioned the spy intensively and for a long time, yet he did not tell us much. We only know that he originated from Queylios. We have "retired" this spy, to prevent him from giving away any more information.
Looks like we have someone else to add to the enemy list.
Aye, if only I could tell who send the spy. Either it's Briel, the guy I attacked 3 times yesterday, or Marian20, the guy I attacked 4 times today (Romania), or someone on that island who just wanted to infiltrate my city. I shall try to ask around.

My name is Erathaol, in the town of Venya, on the island of Duisoios, at 99;45, which possesses sulfur.
So, how's everyone doing?

3.75 hours until my palace is done!

I feel like sending some kind words out.
