I'm absolutely certain that it is easier for me to don a helmet with my short hair than it is for her with her long hair.
I back this up. Having worn a motorcycle helmet with both long and short hair, I must say it is easier for me to "don" the helmet with short hair.
But I wouldn't decide my haircut based solely on the fact, that I drive a motor cycle. It may be harder to wear one with long hair, but it isn't bad to the point where it would make a difference in my decision.
What do y'all think of women with short hair (she asked after having her hair cut to 3 inches long)?
I personally prefer longer hair on women, though I know some that pull off the short hair thing quite well. I find that I generally like hair to fall about the nape of the neck or the shoulders.
Also, to the guys. Wear your hair long and be proud of it, if you want; however, a word of advice: know when to let it go.

Love it. Almost every girl I've ever dated has had jaw-length-at-longest hair, but often much shorter, up to and including significant portions of it completely shaved.
Silly? You must be kidding. I'm absolutely certain that it is easier and faster for me to don a helmet with my short hair than it is for her with her long hair.
If her hair is not already braided, she does a quick little braid. Sure, it may be a moment faster for you, but I doubt it causes her any major inconvenience when she dresses for the road.
I, too, like utilitarian but well-designed things. It balances the practical side and the artist within me quite well. Going into a Muji store, I feel a sense of calm. Products are plain yet appealing, simple, useful, and without all the bells and whistles to make them "fancy." The same thing applies to personal appearance. Don't put on needless effort on crazy make-up, but be nice and clean, for me natural is the way to go. However, if you like how long hair feels and looks (I had short hair last year and long hair this year) go for it. It doesn't require THAT much effort, just keep it clean, brush it, and trim it every so often. Long hair can be fun. Also, hey, Joe, do you ever wear ties with your suits? If so, you everything you already said, zombies and all, is out the window.

hough my girlfriend would understand, my classmates would not. ^^
I know how you feel. I have long hair and many people just couldn't accept it, probably because I live in a small, narrow-minded town. My hair is/was longer than many of the girls' hair at my school. Eventually I ended up being nicknamed "Jesus" (which is ironic since I am one of the few non-Christians in my area). Many people didn't even know my real name, but know who I am because of my hair.

Ugh, 3 inches is too short if you ask me. I agree with those that say that some women can look good with short hair (longer than 3 inches though), but I prefer the long, straight, hair over everything else.
Ties have a practical purpose! They make sure your collar is snug enough that icy wind can't blow down your shirt. :P
Bollocks. And zombies'll grab that flapping tie when you're running away.
But my main priority is how comfortable I feel, and I feel extremely comfortable with long hair.
Vanity makes you comfortable?
No, I never said that. I feel more comfortable with long hair around me than I do with none/ very little at all. I guess it gives one this "protected" feeling. And besides all that, I really like how it looks. :]

The OAG requires guys to wear ties as part of its dress code. So, no tie = no work. That alone makes the tie extremely practical. In an apocalypse (or even just a national emergency) ties can serve as tourniquets or field expedient "ropes", so that's pretty damn practical. If I needed to discard my tie, I could do it in seconds.

That's why I sometimes wear bow ties. They're not as tight as straight ties, and they're a lot easier to take off. I defy anyone to grab my bow tie. Some days when I'm feeling really paranoid, or I know that I'm gonna be near an unruly person in court, I'll wear a breakaway tie.

I can understand the latter, by as to the former, you need therapy.
It's simple as this. Men are blessed with the gift of not having to fuss and the ability to be comfortable while looking good. To give this up shows either an excess of vanity or a lack of intelligence. Neither are attractive to me.
Having said that, if it truly makes you feel good - then go for it. It's just not for me.
I tried to be into the bow tie thing for a short while. One day, I noticed that only arrogant douche bags wore them. That was the end for me.
LOL. That is a drawback. However, the bow tie has enough going for it that I can look past that. It's easier to tie (I can tie one without using a mirror), it doesn't tie as thightly, so it doesn't choke you, it's easy to untie with just one hand, and there's no way you'll ever spill food on it.

I also rock the short hair unless I put on my purple hair. In comparison I prefer my real short hair.

Skullets are very not sexy.
Short hair on women is totally cool.

(Tie fetish?)
Got damn, I surprised myself. LMAO!

. . . or maybe I'm just an arrogant douche bag.
