How old is her car? I thought car windows weren't supposed to be able to do that any more.
they do, they just do it differently. They absorb more force before they break, and when the do, it's small chunks, not horrible shards.
Yeah, it's what Churba said. The car is an '08, but it's safety glass that's meant to bust into really small pieces and fall downward instead of into the passengers. As it is, it was on the driver's side but it only hit her shoulder and just fell down around her seat.

I was just surprised that a rock could have hit hard enough to break the safety glass. I suppose side windows are thinner than windshields, so it would have just shattered.
Have some sort of stomach bug that has pretty much out of commission for the day. I have severe body aches, hot and cold sweats, and a bad headache all day. Bah!
I missed that. -_- Well, I'm not subscribing to their subreddit anymore. Ugh.
On another note, Christmas was a bit disappointing. Our relatives only stayed long enough to eat. They didn't visit, they just came, and left. My mother slaved for three days for them to just loiter. She's now upset, and it felt like there was no Christmas this year. There were gifts and food, but the warmth and togetherness was gone. And no hello, holiday cheer, or even any attention whatsoever given by our extended family. And a very gruff greeting from my father who was offshore at work.
I would have rather had nothing, than to be ignored like that. I'm sure my mother would agree. I'm getting sick and tired of all this. Yes, my immediate family has caused me significant grief, but they are all I have. I've only people I barely know personally online as friends (or at least I hope), so I'm basically alone. I hate being depressing.

My family is going through a similar phase. All of the cousins that were collectively within 8 years of each other are now 18+ and most of them have parted ways. It's funny, I'm the very oldest, and I was the only one to show up at my aunts (which is where my father's side of the family shows up) except for her two sons that live with her still (and are 19 and 23 respectively). My other cousin (second oldest) finished law school and has taken a certain "better than the family" attitude with some things, and her sisters seem to be going along with it. My other brother is angry at one of my aunts kids, and my youngest brother is perpetually in special care.
So I was there first and I'm there last. It's odd.
And from one problem to another. My dad arrived home late last night. In ONE DAY, he has done the following: 1) criticized me for not pulling my weight (even though I am currently unemployed) 2) he has broken the driver's side mirror of my car with a trash can and 3) chastised my mother for wasting money despite the fact that we have been being thrifty for the last month.
AARRGH! I want to kill him (figuratively speaking of course).
EDIT: I'm so mad I had to go back and fix my grammar, and it may still be iffy. -_-
I had a falling out with one of my best friends, a bunch of people in town don't like me after that messy breakup, and now I'm getting the cold shoulder from two other friends for reasons that are beyond me. It's going to be a lonely New Year's.
Got booted from my clan's platoon today in BF because I "wasn't on teamspeak enough". Seriously? For the hour or so I play on weekdays, I have seen exactly three people on, and none of them were the guy who is in charge of the BF3 portal. Most of THEM aren't even playing. Unbelievable.
My fiance's sister and her long-time boyfriend (note that she is an adult nearing 36 and he is an adult nearing 50, so they are both qualified adults) stormed out of a restaurant on us after me referring to my political beliefs as "socialist, I suppose?" and him saying that I'm destroying America, blah blah blah. That was a few months ago, and as a result we haven't seen either of them at all and have had to move the wedding's reception venue away from a piece of land they own but said we could use. Yay.
Skip forward to Thanksgiving. They don't show up at the fiance's parents farm (where an awesome Thanksgiving is always had) for turkey day, we celebrated turkey day with friends and the following weekend with her family. In addition, they threw a party on Friday night (day after turkey day) and invited her parents, some family friends, and just about everyone in the immediate and extended family except us. Yay^2.
Skip forward to Christmas. They don't communicate with us at all (not even a Christmas card), ditch on family Christmas to go visit his family (understandable, although they live only an hour away so it is conceivable to visit both... we did Christmas with my family 5 hours away and then drove to be with her family that evening), then when her parents do manage to spend time with them it basically consists of the parents being yelled at by the sister for 4 hours straight. Then them blaming the entire fight on me, squarely.

That's pretty fucked - people do have things to do outside of BF3, you can't be on all the time. I've not played in a few weeks either, to be honest.
People in BFBC2 who switch teams to set about team killing all the helicopters in spawn. How does a game made after 2000 not have banning and voting built in?
Flunked my bullshit Theology class this quarter with a 61 (70 is the pass line). Maybe it would have gone better of I didn't get a 25% on a major assignment because my answers to vague opinion questions were slightly different from his (literally I had "he was PROBABLY teaching about mutual service" instead of "the effect of mutual service" so I got a 0 on that question).
I hope this doesn't get sent to National Merit. It could literally cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars.
"I want to clarify that my administration will not authorize the indefinite military detention without trial of American citizens," Obama said in a statement Saturday. "Indeed, I believe that doing so would break with our most important traditions and values as a nation."
(But on the other hand - "Obama said a section of the bill provides the "executive branch" with broad authority on military custody for non-citizen detainees.")
Also, this sort of thing is the exact reason I'm not going to give up my Australian Citizenship if I properly immigrate to the US. If nothing else, it will be interesting to see what will happen - in the incredibly unlikely event that of all people, I end up falling afoul of this - if they try this on with a Citizen who is also a citizen of another nation. I would imagine if some stupid wanker who gets locked up being caught buying drugs merits a phone call and the attention of the prime minister, then the Australian government would go absolutely fucking spare over that one.
Okay, let me fix that: For everyone not living in the US, you now qualify for a free indefinite detention. I can't tell if that is more worrysome or less.

Oh, sorry. I wasn't grousing on you or trying to correct you, just trying to add clarity, and my own thought on the situation. My apologies.

Okay, that's actually pretty funny.
I was wrong.
I can't seem to exit out of it. Help?

No shit, Sherlock; can anyone spell "Marlboro"?
