Shit Reddit Says, it's a Subreddit that started out as a social justice/feminisim/etc subreddit focused on calling out the poor behavior of some redditors in regards to those issues, rapidly turned into a notorious shithole and circlejerk. Mostly well known for parading themselves around Reddit as (insert reason they're supposedly better than you here), bullying people to try and advance their cause, and just generally being shitlords, to an equal or greater degree to the people they were trying to fight, except they hide it behind "It's a good cause!" rather than "It's just a joke!"
Also rather well known for being unable to hold a conversation or argument with anyone - their basic tactic essentially involves screaming insults and mocking people as loud as they can, en-masse, while mass-downvoting anyone who disagrees with them - not so that these people lose karma, mostly, but because once it's below a certain threshold, other people can't see it. They also went on a bit of a kick for a while trying to get the admins to hand over control of subreddits that SRS didn't like to the "Fempire", which is what they call their collection of subreddits.
TL:DR - a collection of (most notably) very loud bullies, who proclaim that they're for social justice etc etc, but in reality, retard the cause significantly with their poor behavior.
A childhood friend of mine was killed, left to rot in the everglades. FUCK. I feel so angry right now, so weak. For years I tried to help him out of drugs, and he was sober for a long time, but one relapse and one bad drug deal later and he is dead, thrown about on shallow waters. I'm trying not to touch anything fragile in fear of breaking it out of how fucking angry I am...
*sigh* Sometimes I wish I was as apathetic as people say I am.
Pah, screw that. The SECOND I can afford a nice 5.1 system for my computer I'll be surround sounding it up. For now, I use simulated surround on my 2.1 using the THX shit that came with my motherboard.
It's actually a problem for both virtual and hardware surround. Most programs are outputting the 4-8 channels as though it was a DVD, which is ok, but if they were to directly output the 128 voices (Each individual piece of music or sound effect.) with positional information, and allow either Windows or dedicated sound hardware to work out the channel information, sound could go from really good to amazing. Even cheap virtual surround would work as well as the stuff I've got and there could be some improvements in hardware surround.
Unfortunately Creative were like "Exclusive!" and EAX 4 and 5 are supported by very few games as a result. Had they opened it up, games would sound way better for everyone.
Dad bought a Time Capsule to be the house router in my absence, replacing the workhorse WRT54G. Now, this new piece of shit considers it a great time to sporadically drop the connection on any Windows PC in the house--which means every PC save for Dad's new MacBook Air.
Don't be dumb (like the guy who wrote the article apparently). Copyright doesn't apply to pieces of technology like the actual iPod. It applies to the digital works of literature/music/etc that the device contains. If you wipe the device before you send it you are fine.
Rap fans brawl at The Bug Jar in Rochester, management kicks everybody out, someone shoots and kills a guy outside the bar, and now the place is temporarily closed to deal with this bullshit. It's rare for a story to hit this close to home for me - This is one of the coolest places in Rochester.
I really hope that doesn't affect the bar in the long run. I fully intend to come back for the next Chiptune showing next year, I need my Anamanaguchi fix.
Also - Can we try to improve the state of economic education in the US? I've seen the following conversation about eight times in the last hour:
Person 1(usually american): Oh yeah, you don't get to complain about the price of games, because your minimum wage is like 15 bucks an hour, and ours is seven.
Person 2(Usually not american): Yes, but that's irrelevant. First, most people in either country are not on the minimum wage, and second, a better comparison is Median household income adjusted for Purchasing Parity Power - y'know, how much value you get per dollar - in which case, ours is lower, with identical household sizes. And the cost of living in Australia is higher.
Person 1: That's stupid, I don't know what those things are, but 15 is a bigger number than Seven, so you're obviously wrong.
When you combine this with the "Fuck you, I got mine" Americans, and the people saying "Oh yeah, well it's the same in Europe, so you can't complain" as if we wouldn't fight for them, too.
I decided to play a round of TF2 on a nice casual server I've been hanging out on since the game came out. There was only a few people on, so I played some scout and pyro, a nice chill pace, got some sick redirects, whatever.
The game starts to pick up, and our side is just getting rolled. So I switch to my best class, sniper, and start playing to win.
What happens next is best described as a 15 minute, one way trip, all expenses paid, on the headshot express for the enemy team. I had them locked down so bad they couldn't even leave spawn without an ubercharge to hide behind. It was some of my best work. I had a streak so long that I had to get ammo off dead guys four times, because my shit team's engineers were obsessed with running into battle without dropping dispensers. I actually had more points than the entire rest of the game put together by the end.
Now, one of the members of the my own team, a scout, decides to make it his sacred duty to fuck with me. He starts hitting me with the bat constantly, sitting on the railings in front of me, and just chanting "need dispenser here" constantly in the most irritating way ever, basically causing me to miss shots all over the place. He does this for the better part of ten minutes. Finally, he initiates a vote ban and I'm kicked off the server I've chilled on literately for years.

Also, this is how the monster movie begins...

It's bloody near intolerable.
These kids are from a part of NY close to mine. Appalling.

So, yeah. Thanks, dick.
