You missed the point. NS2 is less the game of crazy gambits that NS1 was but the fade is still on the very thin line between obliterating scores of marines and instant death at the end of a shotgun.
Another thing I had to go to the wiki for: While everyone views the Onos and Exo as counterparts, the Minigun takes off 1 armour for every point of damage, while usually the armour is 2 or 4 points of damage, so it shreds armoured units really fast.
New update changes a lot. DX11, hand grenades, bunch of changes to skills, new trippy alien vision. Seems to be a test version ahead of the full release with the new biodome map.
Apparently many of the changes are to support Linux.
Played the most intense marines game on Refinery, highlights included: Built a base between the two enemy hives, we lost the ensuing firefight but it was carnage. We survived multiple, four Onos rushes into our main base. Great co-ordination on both teams, Exo + ARC pushes going off perfectly. We learned to fear the clown gorge tunnel.
