The most amazing thing about the flash was that ever after 25 years of resting in the attic untouched, the battery in it still worked. I also looked up the brand online, and the exact model I own is without questiontheSLR camera for an amateur photographer to start off with and as such is highly praised.
I'm guessing it's a Nikon then. It's awesome that you found that, but I wouldn't go toting it everywhere unless you're doing srs bsns journalism or art shots with it. Do recall: as amazing as such a relic is, relics also have high value, and thieves like to nab them. That's how my dad's full manual Olympus SLR disappeared.
Oh trust me this camera won't be seeing the light of day except if I decide to take pictures of things relating to art or if I find places that are ruined but not protected or enforced by people. Speaking of which, I rode around the neighborhood I grew up in and I discovered something amazing. It's a gas station, but it is in total ruins for (by the looks of the building, the state it is in, and the damage it has revieved) about 25 - 30 years. The pumps still stand but do not work, and there are no electronics on them anywhere, I'm talking old-school. It has a sort of mystical quality to it, like "a place that time forgot or ignored". It reminded me of an Edward Hopper painting of a very similar looking gas station and it gave me a brainstorm for a project that I could do in the class. I'll call it Edward Hopper: Then and Now. It'll basically be a comparison of two or three paintings of his and I'll try and find similar places to shoot. The idea is that I want to find places like that gas station (there are a few more aged places like that if memory serves me right) and show what time, age, and neglect can do to places that once might have been great or beautiful.
Legit Windows 7 professional for $10 from my University's Computer Science department/association.
I Can Has One?
Need to take min 1 computer science or software engineering course at Uni Melbourne, but kind of fail as it can't be upgraded from VIsta Home Premium which I can't do until end of semester.
You could try asking someone who is taking CS at one of your local University/College for a copy as from what Andrew Mentioned earlier I will make the assumption that many Uni's CS departments are also giving away (or cheaply) Windows 7.
Balance like a bicycle, be able to shift gears, and for goodness sake don't fall.
The last time I rode a motorcycle, I was riding this Honda 250, and I miscalculated how much I should lean into a turn, fell, and skidded about 50 feet down the asphalt. I wasn't going fast enough to be seriously hurt, but I had road rash all up my right arm that made work a real challenge for about three weeks.

You should see Pennies From Heaven. There's a tableaux vivant of Nighthawks and one of New York Movie.

I'm learning on a pitt bike in my friend's extremely large yard. ^_^

Like my dad always said "There are two types of motor cycle riders, those who have put their bike down and those who will."

I heard, "those that haven't gone down yet, and those that are going down again."
Hence why I'm going to go down in a field. I'm actually very much against motorcycle riding on the roads. Reason being is that when you drive on the roads (in a car or bike) statistically you're going to have an accident with another car. It's just a matter of when, and if that when happens while you're on a bike, statistically you die.
Really I just want to learn how to ride a motorcycle so that if I ever have to ride one I'll be able to. Much like being able to double clutch, fairly useless skill in the modern world, but if the situation presents itself where I have to drive a semi, I could.
I'm getting out of work 2 hours early because my boss doesn't feel like staying till 5 on a pre-holiday Friday! And free pizza! It would be extra cool if I don't have to work through lunch.
Nope, I pretty much automatically assumed that Luke would be Out gallivanting for either work or pleasure. I was planning to give him a shout closer to the date though, and if we were in the same city, invite him out for a few pints, however, as noted above, this is probably not possible.
Well, last christmas was right after everything went to shit with my fiance, everyone else in my house had gone home to their families for Christmas, and my only friend was Omnutia, who was with his family, and I was in a really bad place personally. So, I called my family early in the morning, cooked myself a roast, and just bummed about the house, opened a package from home, and then went to bed early to read a book, feeling thoroughly shithouse - you don't get much lower than being alone on Christmas.
However, an old friend of mine is coming over from Australia, and has friends in Germany, so our plan is to go to France, spend a night in Paris and meet up with her friend, then drive to Berlin and stay there over Christmas. Even if that doesn't happen, my radio co-host, Max, has invited me down with his family in Wiltshire to stay for Christmas, so either way, I won't be alone.
I had a good day today at a street show festival. None of the other acts on our pitch ever wanted to follow us because our shows were much better than theirs. This would be great, except for some reason we were put on the same pitch as 4 or 5 young performers who obviously haven't been doing this very long.
For sure. Close-calls are an every day occurrence when you're riding a street bike, and that's no exaggeration.
You definitely gain two things - a Sixth sense that kicks in whenever you hop on your bike, and the very firm belief that 99% of other people on the road are fucking retarded.
Oh I had a very mundane day today, nothing really interesting happened today at all......EXCEPT THAT I SUCCEEDED IN GETTING A JOB!!!!! At Friendly's as a Fountain Worker (or Soda Jerk for Hungryjoe-aged people)!!! w00t!!!

Huzzah! Congrats. Hopefully I will have the same luck as you at some point, and also acquire work. Humorously enough, one of my friends won't go to Friendly's anymore because he was physically and emotionally scarred there. It's actually really funny.
There is another reason why this is so important to me, so be ready for a short tale. Back around the time when Friendly's became the juggernaut it is today in the '40s, the HQ Factory in Wilbraham, Massachusetts was hiring and my great-uncle secured a great job there. Apparently, he was very well-known there and a very diligent and hard worker. He used to bring home ice-cream all the time according to my father. Only my great uncle worked there (no one else), so I like to think of it as a revival and carrying on the legacy.
Hey, Yupa, that's great! I'd say, study up on the internet about photography composition and technique, plan out and execute a themed sequences of shots, and you're halfway there to becoming a budding DP. Take your little digi-camera around for research and snapshots, take the beauty SLR when you are serious about getting that one photo that is ART!

This might be too much win for one forum post.
