  • If I wasn't already pretty busy I'd think about working to become panel head of Otakon, but I wouldn't turn it down :-p
You'ld have to start by gophering this year. Ready to check some badges in front of the dealer's room entrance?

Maybe, I doubt however I would have to start that low :-p (would probably have to watch panel rooms).
  • The old dies, the new grows. Such is life.

I believe they expected us to watch panel rooms (though no one ever actually asked us to do anything). There was zero communication or coordination inside the panels department pre-con (or if there was, we were kept out of it). This was one of the primary factors in our not attending (not having any idea of what they actually wanted us to do).

Maybe you were going to be figure heads :-p
  • So two people dropped out of me and Jed's room. It's at the Days Inn and would only be about 100 if we get two more folks. If anyone's interested hit me up.
  • In response to scalping/re-selling badges online, just put a limit on purchase. There will still be some who buy the max and then sell it, but if the max is two or three, so be it. If people need more than that, they should have to work within group purchasing rules that should be more stringent.

Absolutely. This way you won't have people buying who never intend to go in the first place. The only people purchasing will be people who want to go, and they will only resell if something happens and they can't go. Still, I don't think PAX has a limit, yet nobody has tried to buy a pile of badges for resale, yet.

Another thing they could do is have group discounts. They'll never do it because they'll say how much hard work it is, and such. Even so, if I've got a high school anime club with 20 kids, we should be able to buy 21 badges (one for the teacher) at a discount, either educational or group.
  • Whoa, the con is just five days away and they only put the schedule up now?

It's been up for a few days.
  • Does anyone going to Otakon this year have a video camera they can bring? I want to do something that's in the lower echelons of awesome.

I have a camera that can double as a video camera.

That'll work. I'm not going for super high production values on this idea.

Yeah, my camera is the same way. Pretty low resolution, but decent enough if we have good light.
  • Rym's Demise was filmed on my camera.
  • Right. Seems like better quality than mine.
  • What is this awesome? Also, plus 3 on the camera having.

The thing I look forward most is to seeing everyone. TEAM RANDOM PART 2: THE RETURN of TEAM RANDOM ELECTRIC BUGALOO!

That's what I'm looking forward to as well. We can all tell amazing, random stories.

With the schedules out now, we definitely can do a bit more organization on where to meet and stuff to do together. I nominated the AMV Contest on Friday Evening, but still we can choose wherever to meet up first. ^_^

  • What is this awesome?
It's the kind of thing that will be severely diminished by foreknowledge.
  • I'm kind of scared to say that I will muster up the courage to see Ichi the Killer at Otakon on Saturday. Should I eat anything before I see it?

If you throw up during Ichi the Killer, I will make fun of you about it for the rest of eternity. But seriously, it's not that bad. There is much, much worse out there.

There's one scene that's bothersome, but only really bothersome for females.

That scene is bothersome to males as well. Believe you me, it is bothersome to males. That was probably the only moment in the entire move that actually made my physically cringe and look away from the screen.

They're showing it again? What's the matter, did they run out of things to show?

It was just recommended to me to watch Cannibal Ferox. I'll be watching that as a replacement for Otakon violent movies.

  • I have decided that I will be cosplaying as well on Thursday, and what's so great about it is that I don't have to do anything for the costume. I will be cosplaying as...

But seriously, if you see me in my incredibly loud vibrant awesome shirt, come say "hi" and we might be able to chill.
  • So some slots again opened up, and again, Craziest Mecha Moments has a chance of going through.

    Freaking. Zombie. Panel.
  • So some slots again opened up
Closed again, and because I was at work, I missed it.
